Hotel de Mougins

Stated as 4 star hotel but maybe just scrapes a 3 in reality. Stayed for 5 nights in July 23. First point of note was there was no AC turned in the hotel, so considering outside was 35C, check was very. warm and humid. The gentleman showing us to our room got lost 3 times on the way to our room, in a small hotel, so first impressions were not great. Bedroom thankfully did have AC but I have no idea why the rest of the hotel is just left at ambient temperature in a very warm summer in Europe. Breakfast buffet below average, small pastries, coffee out of a machine instead of fresh. Pool area and gardens decent but ran out of towels one day, receptionist pretty surly about it and pool service only if you ask. Nothing terribly bad to avoid but also nothing terribly good to really recommend.

I have stay at this property regularly but there is always a miss. This time the bedding - pillows and comforter, were made our of synthetic stuffing, uncomfortable and sub-par.

Great Hotel , fantastic location, professional people. Good value for the money. Need more international channels TV. This was our second year in a row to stay at the Hotel de Mougins. We are planning to go again next year 2024 in April.

It needs refurbishment, not as photos shown on *******. We were given a room that didn't match what we booked. The garden was in need of attention, the grass needed cutting and the swimming pool was very cold, it needs heating.

Ok for one night as the rooms are in need of refurbishment, the pool is cold and needs to be heated. The location is good with easy drive into Mougins. Free parking a bonus, but breakfast wasn't up to much

My husband and I love this charming hotel. The staff is friendly. The breakfast in the garden is wonderful. Parking is easy. The location is great. Breakfast in the garden is wonderful. I wish they would sell the scent they use for the ambiance of the hotel. It is amazing! The downside is that someone decided to paint all of the furniture in the rooms and absolutely hideous white! It looks like primer. It is awful. There are paint marks and drips everywhere. They even painted the metal fixtures, and, the bathtub! The horrible decoration of the rooms (blue wall, beige walls, white painted furniture, and bordeaux velour pillows and throw) do not at all correspond with the elegance and charm of this hotel. The other problem is that they have installed a Tesla charging station that is non-stop filled with cars!!! From morning to after midnight people from outside the hotel are their charging their cars. This environment loving people have thrown their trash and cigarettes all over the parking lot and the surrounding area of the charging area!!! Their are cups, bottles, cigarettes, and trash all over the place. Great for the environment. Thank you Tesla lovers! Overall, this is a lovely place to stay. It would be nice if that had nice music in the evening like they had before. There is absolutely NO ambiance in the evening which gives you no desire to eat in the restaurant. It is a shame because they have a great new chef. The pool is gorgeous and very comfortable, but also very dirty. You can literally write your name on the pool walls!! There is a scum of permanent sunscreen on the top of the pool. We did not see anyone clean the pool the entire 9 days that we were there. YUCK! Marie Pierre at the front desk is extremely helpful but the rest of the front desk staff seems to be lost even upon asking the most minor questions. The restaurant staff is overstretched due to lack of personnel, but quite friendly anyway, and very helpful when asked for special things (ie. fruit and vegetables for the juicer in the morning). If you can get past the awful furniture and bathtub in the rooms, and the Tesla charging station, it is really a very charming place to stay. We will be going back next year in the hope that they have changed the furniture in the rooms and gotten rid of the Teslas.

Rather disappointed with this hotel. We booked a junior suite but it was just a larger room than normal. The room was dirty and the chambermaid didn’t clean it properly. The same coffee cups sat on the tray for 10 days. The floor was filthy and the bathroom was poorly appointed with no room for toiletries. Pleasant breakfast but no pots of coffee. You have to make your own in the coffee machine and carry it down steep stairs. Not a four star hotel. Photo of dirt picked up from tiled floor

We love this hotel. It has a super-relaxing character and charming style. The rooms are very good. On this stay we had an upstairs room with (good sized and shaded) balcony to enjoy a drink and look out on the lawn and pool. It’s good value in a quiet location. The central area around the pool and garden is super-relaxing whether to start the day with breakfast as the day starts to warm, sit calmly at the pool or by the bar during the day; take evening drinks, or enjoy an excellent meal of high quality beautifully prepared food. The staff are very welcoming and kind. At the bar and restaurant for dinner Olivier deserves special mention as a very knowledgeable, professional and kind host. The wine list has been put together with real thought and offers a nice variety of interesting wines, including some remarkable wines from the south. Olivier pointed us to wine from a local chateau close to Nice and we very much enjoyed both their rose and red which were really quite unusual. We have reason to be back in Mougins often and will certainly make this hotel our first choice when we return. We are very much looking forward to our next visit already.

We spent 3 nights here in June and had a lovely stay. Pretty and relaxing garden. Nice rooms and very good service from staff. Despite being close to the road inside the hotel grounds was quiet and peaceful.
