Ikos Oceania

We have just returned from an amazing 7 nights here. We were recommended to Ikos by our Son and his girlfriend who had visited another Ikos resort in Spain and were so impressed they suggested trying a different resort. We arranged the holiday as a surprise for my husbands 60th Birthday and we were so glad we chose this resort. The hotel is beautiful, amazing views, well kept grounds and the rooms are lovely spotlessly clean with everything you need. The staff were excellent and always looked happy. Everything we asked they sorted for us, nothing was too much trouble. We were served around the pool by the lovely Angela service always with a smile and again nothing too much trouble for her, Restaurants were fabulous, we tried them all for dinner including one dine out. Food and service at each and everyone was exceptional. We loved them all and had different favourites between the 8 of us . Breakfast we went to both the French & the Greek restaurants, both had great dishes on the menu but our favourite was the Greek where we were Greeted so warmly every morning. They even remembered what we had to drink each morning. My Husband was made to feel special for his birthday with a bottle of fizz and fruit brought to the room with a hand written card and then a Cake at the Asian restaurant. Angela also brought the 8 of us a special cocktail to help celebrate his birthday. We absolutely loved our time here and will return. Thanks everyone at Ikos Oceania you made our holiday so special.

Previous reviews of the overall staff service and restaurant quality are correct, in the few days we’ve been here, the food has been exceptional for AI, and the staff have been great. The lower rating is related to the room issues we’re having. Having booked quite late we were only able to secure a “Deluxe Junior Suite”. As a family of 3, with an almost 10 year old, I would normally book a 2 bed or at least separate sleeping area for our family. However the floor plan (and images suggesting a LOT more space between the main sleeping area and the extra section, suggested enough room, even though altogether. The reality has sadly been a very small room. Our first room, 1224 backed onto a (unrelated to the hotel) building site with barking dogs and reversing lorries beeping. We raised our concerns and the hotel moved us, but the issues remain in the small size of the room. We’re now backing onto the large laundry / hotel lorry area, so not sure how quiet that will be! I had hoped to find a solution with a larger size room, but this has not been possible. It’s been a disappointing experience with sleep disruption, as so much of this concept works, however more transparency should be given when booking a “suite” when clearly it is not more than a standard size hotel room for 2.

My wife and I booked to visit Ikos Oceania for one week from 12th October 2024, exactly one year after our last visit and my wife’s third. As before, the service from private airport pick up, the resort, to returning to the airport was second to none. This service and attention to detail made our vacation very relaxing and worth every penny along with the delicious food and drinks. And this service is for everyone, not just select few. The team at Ikos Oceania go above and beyond. October half term - family break We took kids (4 and 7) here for October half term following lots of Ikos recommendations from friends. Service stands out here, really attentive in a friendly, genuine way. The food quality in the restaurants was excellent and exceeded expectations (for people that don’t generally do ‘all inclusive’). The kids enjoyed the kids club, which had a Halloween theme running all week and where team was great. The Halloween party went down a storm and was very well attended. Only one major area of feedback - the pools are too cold. We raised this and were told the official temperature recording was c27 degrees and that ‘bacteria’ formed above 29 degrees. We have never had an issue with pool temperatures before, and take the kids to variety of pools locally every week. We visited Ikos Olivia - no such problem. Whether it’s energy saving or creaking kit, it needs to get sorted as all the guests were talking about it.

Fantastic hotel with a superb selection of top class restaurants to choose from. This was our 3rd time at IKOS Oceania and once again my wife and I had a fantastic holiday, very relaxing and chilled out. The staff are all amazing, very helpful and friendly, always smiling. We stayed at the adults pool bar during the day and was very warmly served by the pool waitress who was called Eva. She was excellent, An absolutely lovely person who could not do enough to make your time at Ikos that extra special.

Our second trip to Ikos Oceania (we came Oct 2022) and have also done Ikos Olivia x 2, Andalusia, Porto Petro. We had a fantastic week in the sun, weather was great for us for end of October, early 20s but nice and warm in the sun, blue skies. The resort itself is beautiful but built into the hills so can be hard work to get from one place to another. There are lifts (not to the beach though) and buggies if you need them. We stayed deluxe and were so well looked after by Despina and her team around the deluxe pool. They couldn't do enough for us. We felt the pools were very cold compared to last time - definitely not 27 degrees like stated! Earlier in the week, it felt like you could feel the warm water being pumped out at points in the pool, but this did not seem the case on the last couple of days. The heated pools are one of the reasons we go to Ikos as we often go at the end of the season so this was a bit frustrating - the kids insisted on going in still but they were so cold in the water. Our kids went to the kids club most days, and really enjoyed the activities. They were even taken to the pool one afternoon for some pool games. And my son loved going on the "crazy couch", inflatable pulled along by boat, this was an extra paid activity. The Halloween party was great fun for them too. Food and service was fantastic every where we ate, all the staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you. We tried hard to work our way through the cocktail menu! We had a bottle of Taittinger champagne (as we were deluxe) in our room on arrival but then was told there was a supply issue so it was unavailable to drink in the bars/restaurants which was a shame but understand out of control of the resort. The other issue we had was with the air conditioning in our room, which to us, seemed like it kept being switched to heating mode instead of cool. I had to complain several times and generally it was switched back to cool, except for our last day/night where it remained very warm. We did have staff apologising about it but again, frustrating I had to complain so many times and we had poor sleep because it was so warm some of the nights. These issues would not stop us returning but just felt they should be mentioned, in fact we are planning our return!
