Hotel Portao Diaz

When I booked I specifically said self catering when we got there it was only a room nd we had meats beverages that needed to go into a fridge and the manager wasn't very pleasant. The noise level at the place till in the early hours of the morning was unbearable. The lady at reception was very helpful and I give her a HUGE THANK YOU. I won't make another booking there. Advert pics are decieving. Absolutely not value for money and would not refer anyone to make use of the venue. Needs to be accurately advertised. More of a backpackers than a hotel and very noisy

We are used to stay over at Portao Diaz Hotel for years now, because it's safe, our car is parked behind gates, it's near the shops, the ****** and the sea. The treatment at the hotel is always very professional and the cleanliness makes you want to stay longer. We can come in at any time of the day or night, because when we come to Mossel Bay it is always to visit our family in George and Groot Brak River that we haven't seen in a long time. That is why we came in at late nights after a braai or proper visit, because there are so many places (Family houses) to go to in Groot Brak River. We had an experience the previous time where they misplace our key, and we had to wait nearly an hour the night to get into our room to go sleep. The following morning while we were getting ready to leave, the receptionist phone the room to tell us that it's time to leave the room. I was very upset and confronted them when I came at reception, but it was soon sorted out when Silvia came in and apologies to us about the key and offers us a free breakfast for when we come again to stay over. Which we take her on now when we were there. They gave us a very nice breakfast and the staff was very friendly and from great help when I told them that I can't eat eggs, so they don't have to make me some. When my next visit to Mossel Bay is dew, I will definitely stay over at Portao Diaz Hotel Again. Regards. Mrs. America

I used portao Diaz alot and referred a lot of my friends,family and churches I know who always take get aways. The standard has dropped dramatically,the warm pool wasn't working. The cleanliness of the hotel ,the corridors floors and rooms was average as campered to before it was excellent. The friendlynes of the staff was poor ,they behave like the care very little for their work duties. There was one coloured lady that was very uprupt and dnt know how to speak to Guess she was big and dark of complexion,most of the other staff was just very complacent. Dispute I still like the hotel a lot ,the location the very helpful and accomdative manager Yolanda (landi),she knows how to treat and accomadte a person. I like the facilities,the view and ect. This hotel can still UK their standards again by dealing with rude and complacent staff.

I requested the same room as our previous accommodations, when we used your hotel. Your staff ensured that I get the same room, by really going the extra mile to check our past accommodation history. Friendly staff and wow! - what personalities - I am impressed. It felt like my home away from home. Thank you !
