Really enjoyed our short stay here. The tent room was incredible as was the excellent food. We went on the evening and morning safari’s and loved them both. I had mentioned that it was my partners birthday and on arrival they played happy birthday on the drums as we stepped out of our car. And a lovely gift at dinner. Absolutely blown away by the friendly happen team there. Thoroughly recommend!

My partner and I recently stayed at the Safari Camp for 2 nights. After our original booking, contact was made via WhatsApp and useful information etc provided prior to our stay. We were made really welcome from the moment we arrived and were quickly taken to our accommodation. This was a lovely, large 2 room 2 bathroom unit with pool and outside sitting area. Although it was a little way from the main building, we were offered transport on every occasion, so it was no problem. Our safari guide, Eon, immediately introduced himself to us and made himself available to us throughout our stay. He was friendly and helpful and made the sundowner and sunrise safaris, on which he accompanied us, magical experiences. He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and patiently answered all of our questions. We saw many animal species including giraffe, zebra, impala, hippo and many more. Our favourites were probably the rhinos with which we had a really close up encounter. The real highlight was the close proximity of the lions, and hearing them roaring was really special. Our entire stay at the Camp was excellent and the all of the staff were really welcoming and helpful. I have a slight mobility issue and always received assistance with transport and a step into the vehicle etc. They also provided transport to George Airport at the end of our stay. Thank you to all.

We absolutely loved our visit here! We stayed in the Loft, which was amazing. The views from the balcony were incredible, we saw hippos, impala, giraffes and other animals without even going anywhere. It was all beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. The food was all delicious (& I'm quite a fussy eater, but even I ate everything!) and all the staff were so kind and friendly (my son thought they'd mistaken us for royalty!!). There was incredible attention to detail, like name cards, handwritten messages and flowers on the table that made us all feel very special. Yolandi made us all feel very welcome. Of course, the highlight of our trip was the safari!! We did sunrise and sundowner safaris with Stephan, who was incredibly knowledgeable about the animals, plants and history of the area. We absolutely loved our drinks and snacks with the animals (& again everything was beautifully presented). Stephan also shared lots of future plans for the reserve with us. The vehicles were very comfortable, especially the hooded blankets. Even when we had a bit of rain, we were all cosy, warm and dry inside. We also did a walking safari with Josh, who was also very knowledgeable and told us lots of interesting facts about the animals. I can't believe how close we got to the animals, it was such an incredible, unforgettable experience. I cannot recommend the Garden Route Safari Camp highly enough and hope we are able to come back again soon!

Beautiful location, authentinc and at the same time extremely luxurious stay in a tent. Amazing staff, one of the most helpful staff we have experienced in 25 years of our travels. Thank you very much Simone and our ranger Joshua. Tomas, Kristina, Adrian and Dominik.

We had a very warm welcome at the lodge. Our room was large and clean. We had an amazing Safari with Eon, who is very well educated and passionate. In general the staff is super friendly and very personally. We had a lovely & tasty dinner

We spent two nights in a luxury tent with our family and it was beautiful, peaceful and extremely comfortable. We highly recommend splurging to stay in one! You have to drive back and forth to lodge which is not a burden—you get mini safari drives each way! It’s amazing! The animals were the highlight of course with the staff a close second. They were all kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable. Mark, teenage, Mildred and Simonée were all fantastic!

The most wonderful experience of our whole trip to South Africa. Warm hearted hospitality and the tour guide Josh did such an amazing job showing us the landscape with all its beauty and secrets and above all so many wonderful animals. Such a friendly, welcoming place (family-run), with really knowledgable staff for the game drives. We saw so many lovely animals and also plants and learnt some fascinating things during our stay. It was a special birthday for my husband and was the perfect place to be!
