It was great! Even though I only understood a little English and it was raining, I still enjoyed myself. The animals were sleeping and the zoo was empty early in the morning, which felt special. But be careful, there are no hair dryers! I was very satisfied with the dingoes, platypuses, wombats and Tasmanian devils in the zoo.

It was a perfect experience. The tour guide staff were very friendly and one of them could speak Chinese. The guided tour starts at 5:30 pm and ends at 10:00 pm, and starts at 7:00 pm and ends at 9:30 pm the next morning. The itinerary was tight, and it was during a time when it was not open to the public, so it felt like the zoo was open to private individuals. Although the accommodation environment is a tent, it is simple but not shabby, and it is convenient to wash and shower.

This experience with our grandchildren was just wonderful, magical and special. From the moment we checked in we knew it was going to be special and we were not disappointed. To experience many parts of the zoo with a small group after hours was very different. The staff so knowledgeable and passionate and their enthusiasm flowed. Our overnight accommodation had the best view in the world, was very comfortable and the meals and drinks supplied plentiful. Our special thanks go to Mike, Jo, Belle and Jo - you looked after us admirably. This is one experience that I am so glad that we have done and certainly is a highlight of my life. Tarongo Zoo - the animals, staff and volunteers all are amazing

I booked Roar and Snore for my 10 year old son's Christmas Present and him and I (his Mum) stayed there last night. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left it was excellent. We were greeted by friendly staff, iced tea and water whilst everyone checked in, followed by a Welcome to Country by the amazing Lez. Truly moving moment. The first walk around was very relaxed and on the most perfect of summers evening, hard to beat! We went onto dinner, it was yummy and there was plenty of it. The drink selection was great and then we moved onto camp. The views are the best you are going to get of Sydney and with the most gorgeous sunset it was simply WOW! After checking out camp, and enjoying the views with a glass of wine, fire pit, cheese and biscuits we went out for another walk about, all the while hearing the Lions with their soul moving ROARS! The Taronga team of staff Amy, Jacinta, Lez and Mike where just fantastic, knowledgeable, funny, kind and patient and really made the experience 10/10 The tents and beds were great, very comfy and the aircon was perfect. We woke early and enjoyed sunrise & coffee before our 2 animal encounters, which we both LOVED! Extra shout out especially to Lez and Jacinta for going above and beyond with their kindness, and human connection with both me and my son. We will remember this adventure forever.

The food was great and such a big choice and the keepers who were with us were just phenomenal and so passionate and knowledgeable. We will be back!

An amazing experience from the comfort and cleanliness of the accommodation with the incredible view of Sydney’s greatest landmarks, to the behind the scenes tours. The lions, tigers giraffes, sun bear, binturong and all our favourite Australian animals. It was perfect!
