Honey Badger Lodge

I have been going to Tanzania for the past 10 years, and every time I am there, I always stay at Honey Badger Lodge in Moshi. It's about time I wrote a review of this place. The staff is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, welcoming, and kind. They are leaders in the tourism industry there. The lodge is gorgeous and peaceful. You wake up, and the sun is shining on the big pool and beautiful green banana trees right outside your doorstep. By the pool, there is a spacious lounging room, and even adorable tortoises lounging around for kids to play with! Honey Badger offers and helps with safari bookings, and Kilimanjaro expeditions since they're in such close proximity to both. There is a big bar full of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and their food menu is delicious and always changing. They even cater to dietary needs (we had gluten-free/celiac, vegan, vegetarian, and multiple allergies on our last trip and they successfully catered to everyone!). The rooms are gorgeous, and they’ve recently added many new ones too! The staff clean frequently and they are very attentive and proactive. Each bed has a mosquito net, and the rooms are cleaned daily/as often as you’d like. I always felt comfortable, safe, and well cared for. (Ps. the pillows are amazing... I almost stole mine to bring them home!) If this is your first time travelling to Tanzania, I only recommend Honey Badger. I would bring my family here again and again. You will be welcomed and taken care of for your once-in-a-lifetime Tanzanian adventure :)

The rooms were basic with no coffee facilities. The restaurant and pool were not clean, and the bathrooms were very old. The only good thing was the breakfast. I wanted to leave from the first hour but was stuck due to a non-refundable booking.

Honey Badger Lodge has a wilderness safari lodge feel. The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. The staff was attentive and friendly. The pool is well maintained and I enjoyed swimming and sunning by the pool. I would definitely stay at Honey Badger again.

A smaller lodge conveniently located about 15 min from the bustly center. Very quiet with a big garden and a pool. The rooms are rather big, with good bathrooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food so good, that we had all dinners and breakfast there :) Also offers day trips at a good price. We enjoyed it much!

What an amazing experience from the Honey Badger Lodge. This was the most peaceful place I've stayed and they all treated me like a friend. Delicious breakfast, especially the eggs, and dinners (try the chips mayai) and a good selection of drinks on offer. The banana mango smoothie is to die for! Everyone was so helpful, caring and charming, I loved the shower, the bed was super comfy and they helped to organise a day trip into Moshi town so I could visit the market.

Honey Badger Lodge has a cabin like feel to the hotel. The property is well maintained and has wildlife like monkeys and tortoise which were pleasent to see. Some things it can improve on are being prepard for clients arrival. When we checked in, the lamp in our room did not have a lightbulb, and we were given flashlights to use on our first night. The temperature inside the room was also quite warm and one fan was not sufficient in our family suit. Lastly, service during breakfast was painstakingly slow - just a slice of toast took 15 mins for the staff to bring. The lodge is made beautifully. It is quiet and relaxing, but can improve in the coustomer service department.
