Springlands Hotel

Splinglands take relaxing very seriously. You won't have to lift a finger. With all the staff extremely friendly and willing to go over and above to make your time magical. Thank you to G who personally made my trip fantastic. Without asking, I always had a cold drink and belly full. He was truly a perfectionist and watching him work was all joy. The hotel is very relaxed with a pool and stunning layout. The buffet every breakfast, lunch and dinner is more than filling. Thank you team for my wonderful trip Laura

This is a very comfortable hotel, with a decent buffet, bar, pool and gift shop. Lots of staff to help with all needs, either before or after your hike of Kilimanjaro, or safari. We spent a night before and after our hike and we’re well served staying here

I stayed at Springlands for 5 days total before and after my Kilimanjaro hike and safari. It was the perfect home base! The staff is incredible and consistently went above & beyond. It was a community feel where they quickly learn your name and make sure you are having the best possible experience. When I had free days, they booked me fantastic last minute day tours. They also extended my checkout on my last day to accommodate my late flight. The premises are beautiful with well kept gardens, a coffee bar, a bar, and a cool pool that is perfect for relaxation between activities. The restaurant was a buffet-style cafeteria. The food was a little repetitive from day to day, but tasty and had good variety. They also would seat travelers together, so it was a great space to meet other travelers and trade stories/ tips about travel activities. The rooms are very simple. It reminded me more of a private room at a hostel than a hotel. So if you were looking for a luxurious hotel holiday feel, this may not be the best fit. But it was clean, spacious enough for all of my luggage, had hot water, and the bed was very comfortable. The room has G type electrical sockets. There is no wifi in most of the rooms, but it's widely available in all of the common areas (with decent speed to both upload and download videos/ music). As a solo female traveler, safety was a primary concern for me. This hotel is fully secured. It is fenced in and has guards 24/7. The staff also went out of their way to ensure safety. They kept track of when I left for tours or went into the city and when I returned, which made me feel extra safe. The town of Moshi itself also felt very safe. It's a 20 minute walk or the hotel will arrange a shuttle. The first time I went, the hotel arranged for a guide, which I highly recommend. It was a great way to learn about the city and get my bearings. The second time I went, I walked into town alone in the middle of the day. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. You don't see many tourists around so I did stand out and got quite a bit of attention. But everyone was happy to say hello and welcome me to their beautiful country. The town is bustling and busy at all times of the day. There is no ATM at the hotel, so do your research about what cash you will need before coming to Tanzania (especially how much you will likely need to tip for Kili/ safaries/ hotels). If you need money, one of the hotel drivers can bring you to a bank in town. The hotel itself accepts credit card for all services. The hotel also offers laundry services, using per-item pricing. So you can wash clothes between tours (it took only a few hours). Very grateful that I stayed at Springlands. 10/10 would recommend.
