We loved this hotel which was our base for a fantastic new year ski trip in Morzine. The whole hotel is warm, cosy and smartly decorated in a quirky modern style that works well. Our rooms were split across two floors, one a little pokey but with a nice front-facing aspect and balcony, the other huge but tucked away at the back of the hotel with small windows. Bathrooms are nice with fantastic shower fittings that give a great shower, always nice after a day on the slopes. The facilities downstairs are great - a nice bar with some interesting local beers and friendly service, all good for an evening drink. There's a comfy sofa area with fireplace where they have a TV and will put sport on for you if they can find it on the french channels. There's a pool table positioned in possibly the smallest area you could attempt to fit one, resulting in some hilarious shotmaking, and next to the table is a kiddies room with TV, toys, art equipment etc. Go downstairs and you'll find some arcade machines and a funky cinema room with games console. The restaurant is decent enough and we enjoyed a good meal on our first evening, then a special menu on NYE which was nice enough, but overpriced for what we ate and didn't live up to the hype. Nor did the New Year celebrations which were very low-key with not much of a party atmosphere - but this worked out well as we were fresh for a fantastic bluebird powder day the following morning. Breakfast in the restaurant is very good, a really nice selection with good bacon and eggs and various other options. Spa is decent with a fantastic little pool and outdoor hottub, plus a small fitness room with a treadmill - very basic but good enough for a quick 5k before heading to the airport. Location is great, for skiing you can wait for the bus or walk up the hill to the lift in 10 mins. There's a well stocked supermarket just up the road and the whole town centre is accessible on foot for evening meals with loads of choice - we had some great meals and enjoyed the shopping and festivities around town. Ski area is fantastic, loads of variety and top notch mountain restaurants - busy at Xmas so make your bookings. All boxes ticked!
