This was our 3rd annual visit to Hotel La Bergerie in the summer. Location is simply the best, very close to town centre and even closer to the ski lifts. Run by the charming and ever so helpful Caroline & Eric who are very "hands on". Pool area and garden is a lovely place to relax, whilst the views from the room balconies are simply spectacular. Rooms are very comfortable and practical. We will be back and will always recommend

La Bergerie is in my opinion, one of the nicest hotels in the Alps. The owners are both charming and welcoming, the hotel is immaculate, and the food is the best home-cooking in the Haute Savoy. I have frequented this hotel for the last 23 years, and like a fine wine, it has only gotten better with age. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I had the pleasure of staying at La Bergerie in mid January 2024. Having spent many weeks, in many different resorts, over many years I've rarely found a place the combines so much of the critical (location, comfort, facilities) with so much of the soft additions such as ambience, culture and luxury. Caroline, Eric and all of the team helped to make our stay a very very long lasting memory. We learned about life in the Mountains, secured recommendations for skiing as well as eating all whilst being greeted like family every time we walked into the reception. Special people and a special place. Thanks for having us.

Fantastic run family chalet hotel with everything you need for a wonderful family holiday. My wife and I visited with our 2 daughters (aged 9 and 5) for their first trip up into the mountains and we couldn’t have had a better experience. The hosts were brilliant, ensuring we had everything we needed from skis and passes to dinner reservations. We very much hope to be back next year!

Lovely hotel - it's in an excellent location for the ski lifts and we really enjoyed the amazing breakfast, evening swim and sauna and the beautiful sheep decorations throughout the hotel. The owners are really friendly and helpful. We had a great stay- would highly recommend!

A lovely family run hotel which feels like a home. Overall, a good experience, and I can certainly imagine returning. A few small points to note, although similar to other comments. Good: - breakfasts were excellent - location is excellent away from the noisier parts of town - garden is beautiful, and the pool is clean and warm - You can really see the attention to detail in everything. - Eric and Caroline are very gracious hosts and all the staff were competent and lovely - Our room with balcony and kitchenette was fantastic, allowing us to keep milk in the fridge and have takeaway food a couple of times. Things to note: - The car park is super small, and if you're renting a car or nervous, ask Eric who will kindly park or take out for you - The garden facing rooms get unbelievably hot. We had rooms opposite one another, and the one across the corridor was several degrees cooler most days - The XS rooms aren't really that small, and if you're not desperate for a garden view, are perfectly good for a double or close twin. Slightly nicer bathrooms as well, in my opinion - This is really minor, but I found the welcome a little brusque. After a long drive, and given it is a family hotel, it would have been nice to be offered a cold drink, reminded how many nights we were staying for, and asked what plans we had and if we needed any advice about what to do or where to go in our stay. It just adds that personal touch and further distinguishes it from a bigger hotel.

We had the warmest of welcomes from the hosts at the hotel which was replicated throughout our stay. Eric, his wife and his team couldn't do enough for us and with a smile. The hotel reception, bar and "restaurant" area were immaculately clean and with a boutique hotel feel. Unfortunately due to the length of our stay we didn't get chance to have an evening meal at the hotel but the breakfast was fantastic with everything fresh and available. Our room was perfect, clean and well proportioned with a view over the pool and mountains. Too cold to sit on the balcony although we did get chance to look at the night sky and stars. No noise from the outside area which made for a very relaxing nights sleep. The room itself had a little hidden away kitchenette which was really useful for rustling up a snack. We used the outside pool, steam room and sauna which were perfect after a long day on the slopes. I felt the pool was a perfect temperature although some guests did say it would have been warmer. The positioning of the hotel could not be better for the Pleney ski lift, and bus to other ski areas. On the doorstep is the "village" so going out for meals and drinks is literally a stones throw. All in all a 5 star rating for a 4 star hotel. We will definitely go back and I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel based on the above and a lot more.

This hotel was a home from home. The staff were so welcoming and personable, you were always made to feel relaxed and that nothing was too much trouble. As for the room, I couldn't wait to get back to it after a hard day on the slopes. I stayed in the Pleney room and was delighted with every aspect. It was super-clean and comfortable with a view to die for up the Pleney slopes. The rest of my group were in a shared apartment so I was forced to leave every evening to go and meet them for dinner. I could easily have stayed in! I cannot recommend this place enough if you are looking for charm, comfort and location.
