We stayed in this hotel several years ago while driving Highway 1 and loved it. It was one of our favorite hotels, and we loved the location. When we returned to Morro Bay again recently, we couldn’t help but return for another night. It has only improved since then. A little bit about the property: the Estero Inn is a small, two-story hotel with eight rooms. The location is fantastic; most shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The inn also overlooks the bay and is one of the only hotels with unobstructed water views. Just a heads up: they only have three spaces in the parking lot, but you can park on the street if it fills (and the immediate area is extremely safe). The staff were always friendly and accommodating. It is clear that everyone takes great pride in their work. This time, we booked the Marine Suite on the first floor, which has two queen beds. The hotel received a renovation recently. The Marine Suite is massive and comfortable and includes so many amenities that other hotels don’t provide. For example, the room included a set of binoculars, a full bottle of dish soap, a tea kettle, bath robes, multiple types of drinking glasses, and an extremely generous amount of bath towels. Cleanliness has never been an issue here. This room was spotless. Ground floor rooms have privacy glass, so people walking past cannot look into your window. Second floor rooms have small balconies. The hotel will offer a wine room soon (it is not open yet). They have a shared seating area on the second floor to capture some of the views. The inn doesn’t provide free breakfast. You can’t beat this small, independent hotel. We could’ve stayed there for so much longer. I would give up everything I own to ensure that all my hotel stays were as enjoyable as this.
