We stayed in the lovely 2 bedroomed cottage. It was cosy and nicely decorated. Well equipped kitchen & tassimo coffee maker with pods included! The bedding were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and cushions. Excellent choice of breakfast and all freshly cooked. Staff were all very friendly & welcoming.

We enjoyed our meal. The room was freshly decorated perhaps the bed was a little past its best a bit of a saggy mattress. Bathroom clean and looked newly done, little bit of a musty smell Staff were friendly and attentive. Good selection in the menus we thoroughly enjoyed our dessert …amazing It was midweek and the bar was empty by 9 so atmosphere was lacking a bit. Perhaps on a weekend and peak time this would be different We will return to eat and look forward to or dessert defiantly worth calling in for cake and coffee and a lovely meal

Warm and comfortable room with dressing table, wardrobe and good bathroom. Bed was comfortable but a bit creaky. Staff very pleasant, restaurant offered very good evening meals and a good breakfast. Large car park, lovely country location. Old hotel so rooms have stairs to the bedrooms.

We had a great stay here. Welcoming staff on a busy Sunday. A lovely roast meal in a cosy traditional dining room. Nice hotel in a great location with lots to explore. Clean and warm room. Freshly cooked breakfast. Definitely recommended and enjoyable.

We had a delightful stay for 3 nights at the Anglers Arms. the staff are very welcoming, the room comfortable and the food very good indeed. On one evening we invited a friend to eat with us who had a long list of food allergies. I had informed the Anglers Arms in advance and was very touched to be given an annotated menu on arrival, showing which dishes would be safe for our friend to eat. She felt welcomed rather than being seen as a nuisance. We will be going back.

Lovely break away to see Cragside National trust property and relatives in the North east, would 100% stay here again. The “apartment” we had was home from home, breakfasts were the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve stayed in a lot of different places having been in shop fitting for 40+ years. Staff couldn’t have been any more welcoming.

Booked for Sunday lunch 8/sept/2024 got there a little early they sat us down we then decided to get a Sunday lunch share platter 42£ as you got a little extra upon arrival it wasn’t hot it was slightly warm the Yorkshire puddings hard and cold it was bland no taste it felt like it was cooked the day before. We ordered plain pasta for our 6yr old got charged 12£ just for that, we looked at the pudding although a little pricey 8£ each, most of the puddings had berries on so we asked if could be removed as allergic so got a resounding NO. Never mind we then decided to pay and leave but the lady in charge was pushy and tried her best to get us to have puddings we kept saying no but wouldn’t listen so we payed the bill dinner + drinks (pop no alcohol) 67£ on the way out the lady stated see you next time my response No you won’t. 67£ for cold food and pushy staff I should point out that other customers had hot food you could see the steam. 21£ each for dinner should of at least been hot.?. Been coming here for years BUT … Why on earth did the new owner change the decor and remove most of the nik naks. This is what gave the Anglers Arms its distinctive cosy atmosphere. The new green paint scheme is typical of any other mediocre pub that we see now. Pubs need character, please
