Moree Hotels with Airport pickup service

Decided to visit Moree for a week with my wife. Was greeted by the owner Bill who was the owner who went out of his way to make me feel welcome; he also explained to me the sights and things to do in town. Room was clean and tidy with a kitchenette and fridge with a comfortable bed. Ample parking with entrance to hotel locked at night for security. Comfortable bed and strong to make my stay comfortable.

We are a self catering couple. Our first impressions of the motel were not good. The office really reeked of tobacco smoke and was very unpleasant to enter. Unlike the room in the photograph, our room was dark and depressing. Overall it showed a lack of care & neglect & when we wanted to use any items from the cupboards we gave them a good scrub first. Both of the taps in the kitchen area and bathroom constantly dripped, & there wasn't a plug for the kitchen sink; there was no frying pan & the 2 other pans provided had caked oil on the base; the ceiling light fitting in the bathroom had lots of dead bugs in it; there were a few chips out of the worktop in the kitchen and the curtain at the front window had a large tear in it; the shower screen in the bathroom looks blurry and is probably scored from attempts to clean it but at least it’s not a shower curtain which would be worse; the shower is not very strong; there were no wine glasses but there was a sharp knife and a small chopping board plus modern reverse cycle aircon and bedside lights. We were given a bath towel and a hand towel, soap, combined shampoo/conditioner but no face cloths. We unpacked and went straight out to see what Moree had to offer and on returning & switching on the lights the room didn’t seem so bad and with a bit more care and attention things could be much better. In addition If they got rid of the armchair & the wardrobes and installed functional shelves it would lighten .the room up considerably The good news is that it is in a good location and it is just around the corner from the Aquatic Centre which has artesian heated pools. The entrance fee for non-local seniors was $10 each. We were also able to walk easily to the tourist centre and the town centre.

It suited us the room even though small we wanted to enjoy the heated spar pool which was fantastic for those aching bones so the room was ok for that reason thank you

We stayed there on 26/1/24 for one night stay on our way south. The motel is obviously under new management. Couldn't understand the guy on the phone when I booked the room. Room was as expected. (we have stayed there before). Fluro light on bathroom was flicking, so pulled the starter out to stop it. Ceiling fan was disgustingly dirty. Looked at the credit card balance a few days later and found a separate charge of $3.00 as well as the room charge. Sent an email querying the $3.00 charge just out of principle. Judging from the guys response, he has no idea what the separate charge of $3.00 was for and to this point, no refund.. He also used the previous owner's email address with his response and made out it was from Alison. (the previous owner). This guy is clueless. Won't be back to this one again.......
