Morcote is a lovely historic village in a lovely position on the lake. The buildings and small streets are very atmospheric although there’s not a lot to do in the immediate vicinity. The accommodation is quite clear that they are restaurant with rooms: they do their absolute best with what they have. Lisi, the hostess, is absolutely delightful, very helpful and seems to do every job in the place, apart from the cooking! The building is quirky and quaint, full of character and the rooms are compact but totally adequate. Beware if the weather is hot as due to the historic nature of the buildings there isn’t proper air conditioning so it gets pretty stuffy. If you like character and quirkiness, this is a place for you!

Very friendly staff, nice cozy room, although a bit small. It was directly under the roof, so it got a bit hot, and the AC was pretty loud. Walls are pretty thin, you can hear a lot from the hallway. Other than that, would definitely recommend for this price.

Wonderful location directly by the lake, nice rooms accessed through a pretty back alley (ours didn't have a view but you won't spend much time in the room anyway), and a fantastic restaurant downstairs. Very friendly service. Breakfast was extra, table service, and had to be ordered the night before. Highly recommended, though. Food was fresh and plenty and we ate it outside with a view of the lake.

We had a lovely meal in a beautiful setting. Lovely service. Really delicious and fresh sea bass. Very nice experience and I recommend seeing morcote. Only downside was it was hard to get email communication to book, but they did book on the phone. Thanks

If you don't want to lose your good mood, to use an elegant expression, stay away from this place. The story takes a bad turn right from the start, when, upon our arrival, under heavy rain, there is not the slightest trace of a place near the hotel restaurant, where we can stop to unload our luggage. Having entered the building to get information, the owner, who will later reveal himself as a cook and handyman, is unable to tell me precisely how and where to park, as if he had been there for a day. Having parked the car in the municipal silo, we return to the building and access the booked room (€125) not after having overcome two very steep flights of stairs that are EEA-proof and on the way up, obviously, having to make do with our suitcases. The room immediately turns out to be disappointing, minimal space, dark, entirely covered, including the ceiling, with simple white-colored wooden strips that produce an unpleasant alienating and claustrophobic effect. Perhaps the intentions should be to increase the brightness and reduce the humidity, if that were enough. Precarious furnishings, power extensions running above the back of the bed, the much vaunted lake view reduced to a small window, further diminished by the looming sloping roof. Tiny bathroom, no bidet, the only credit the shower. It was 8pm and informed that the kitchen would close shortly thereafter, that is, at 9pm (a questionable time, to say the least, given that it was a Sunday evening in a holiday period and with a lot of tourist traffic), given the unfavorable weather conditions and with a day already full of mileage, we decided to stay on site and so we went to the restaurant room (?), the only customers. Animated by the best intentions and in order not to waste time, I asked the same person as before what the house specialties were, which are two (?) and shortly we proceeded with the order: veal stew with polenta, asparagus with eggs, two glasses of wine and a bottle of water. Menu and wine list, UFO. The dishes are nothing special, just edible, ordinary in taste and presentation. The reviews that describe this restaurant as the best in the area leave me stunned or perhaps it is better not to think about how others fare. The surprise on the bill: €91. I ask if a mistake had been made, but alas, that was not the case. To my complaints, the reply is that perhaps I was not fully aware of the context in which I was. I had already looked around previously, but I do it again thinking I had missed something. Summary: we are in a small, stale-looking room with four, five tables, empty at that, which also serves as the hotel reception, you enter directly from the porch, on the opposite side of the entrance there is a bar counter, on one side the serving hatch that communicates with the adjacent, non-visible kitchen, on the other a very sad shelf with a few bottles, the tu

Excellent characteristic place with Alessandro the king of cocktails, very friendly and professional. A place to visit, cradled by the lake and with a stunning view. Excellent for companies and events and arranged one on the deck and one on the floor below with two different furnishings. Very welcoming place

Un très joli petit hôtel bien situé. La dame qui nous a accueilli était très agréable. La chambre était impeccable et joliment décorée. La literie était confortable et la salle de bain très pratique. Aucun bruit la nuit, l’endroit est calme.
