Hotel was clean and staff great. Swimming pool is not the one on photos. The pool is clean but surrounded with old buildings some of which look derelict. Nowhere was it mentioned at booking that we had to go to another hotel for lunch. Food was very limited. Paid all inclusive but only ate breakfast there.

Our first holiday on Zakynthos this year was not that good due to bad weather (rain, wind, cloudy). We wanted sun and we did not plan the second holiday early, 3 weeks before we travelled we started we booked a trip and a stay in this hotel, of course more expensive then booking very early. Our main focus in all the reviews is "Hotel is clean". For sure this is true. We did not see dirt, our room and bath was very clean, the whole Hotel was clean. The staff doing this was very nice. This was not ensured in 4 star Hotels. Here you get what you pay for. Room was big enough for us both, bathroom size was ok and it was also ok that some water runs in the bathroom, but not a lot. What we were missing was some kind of holder for our shower accessoires. There is no shampoo etc in the bath room. Only a soap holder but who wants to take a shower with soap..? Staff was in general very friendly. I read somewere that the barkeeper Theo collects beer mats, i brought him two and he was happy. So if anyone reads this, bring him something from your area. There are two employees for the breakfast (maybe more but we only had breakfast), the older one was very nice, he sings and says kalimera. The younger one does not even say hello or recognizes the guests, can be improved. In some reviews here on tripadvisor it was mentioned, that one (of the 3) blonde receiptionists is rude. The other two were very nice, i would not say rude but she was not very friendly to me (at least 3 occasions). To my girlfriend she was, maybe its that my girlfriend is more a nice and friendly person ;) but at least in this industry you should be friendly to all. Hotel collects the tax but does not accept this to be paid via card, questions for reasons resulted in a discussion with.. you know.. lady above. Safe costs 2,50 Euro a day, from my perspective this should be included but i was in Hotels were AC costs. Safe is not with number but with a key you need to store. Pool towels are 20 Euros deposist, cleaning costs 2 Euros, i think thats fair. Coming back to AC, it was preset to 24 which was ok for us. It is possible to start night mode so the AC runs the full night, someone mentioned it stops after 20 minutes, thats not true if you use the correct function. Breakfast was.. hm... for my girlfriend perfect, i missed something compared to other greek Hotels. It had a lot of fruits and nice Joghurt and other greek deserts. Sausage, ham and cheeses was ok. The bread or "Brötchen" were not my type but this might be me. Focus on breakfast style was more Brit oriented with beans and stuff. Not my favorite. Only one day we had boiled or fried eggs in 6 days. I expect eggs to be available every day. Twice we had little sausages which were good, the other days it was bacon. In general it was ok but i was missing alternatives. We did not have dinner, the buffet looked ok but the days we looked there was nothing really greek special at all. But there are several nice restaurants nearby were i

Where do I start? On arrival the hotel receptionist with blonde hair was very rude when checking in and needs to learn how to provide customer service, not a great start to our holiday. When shown to our rooms we could not get cold air from the air conditioning unit and asked the rude receptionist for help only to be told that its working and is pre set at 24 degrees. Air conditioning cuts of after 20 minutes where you have to switch it on again manually. Dont expect cooler air during the night unless you are prepared to wake up every 20 minutes to turn it back on. Bed mattresses were hard and only 1 pillow and a thin sheet on beds. I had to ask for more pillows from the morning receptionist who was much nicer and also a bed cover as I was cold with just a thin sheet. Food was not hot and is tranferred in from sister hotel "The Albatross" ,and only 4 or 5 greek food options to choose from. We went all inclusive and was very disappointed with drinks included with this board, brandy, ouzo or small plastic cups of draught beer. I couldnt figure how to work the shower and after 30 minutes I finally figured out how to work it- pull shower handle out towards you and turn towards the left for hot and right for cold. There are no lifts in this hotel and lots of steps so not great for anyone with mobility problems. Hotel is in a good location with a bar and bakery accross the road but the customer service at the bakery was just as bad as the blonde hair receptionist at the hotel. 5 minute walk to the beach and all amenities and be prepared to be woken every morning from 4am with roosters in the area. This was my family's first trip abroad and they loved the beauty of the island but were let down very badly with lack of Greek hospitality and friendliness. Avoid this hotel if you want a memorable holiday.

I will Start with the good points...The hotel is in a good location, bus stops outside, 5min walk to the beach, shops ect on the doorstep, cleaner is lovely. Now the bad points. The hotel is rundown, surrounded by abandoned buildings with scaffholding, the female receptionist with blonde hair is very rude. When we checked in she snapped at us because we could not understand her broken english, we paid for a late checkout, she informed us the day before leaving that we are leaving at 11am (almost like she could'nt wait to get rid of us) informed her we paid for a 6pm checkout. Airconditioning in the rooms dont work, I asked the same receptionist how to fix it, she told us "thats it, its working". Nope theres was no cool air and she told us it cannot be set bellow 24oC. I had to buy room fans from a shop. The beds are Rock solid with one little pillow and a thin sheet (we had to ask for extra pillows and a duvet) The swimming pool is tiny and dirty with many floatimg insects and peeling paint, the shower is tiny and when you shower the shower curtain sticks to your skin as there is nowhere to move in the shower, also the bathroom floods when you take a shower as its basically a wet room but the water runs off into the hall. The food is terrible, no choice, all greek style food approx 5dishes to choose. Nothing for say children who are used to more western tastes. wasps buzzing about everywhere in the dining room. Lastly the choice of Alcoholic drinks for all inclusive is terrible. you are only limited to a few. I would love to come back to corfu as it is beautiful, but never ever again to this hotel, only reason it got two stars was for location.

We’ve just returned from a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was absolutely brilliant. The staff were especially helpful, particularly Viera, who went above and beyond. We were bed and breakfast and the choice of food was very good. We had arranged to hire a mobility scooter for my husband. Viera made sure that it could be left in reception at night and ensured that an electrical socket was available for charging the battery. We would highly recommend this hotel

Just returned from a week at Alkionis. Pros: situated on the main street of Moraitika. Rooms quite spacious and bathrooms newly refurbished. Shower is over the bath but there is no fitting to put Shower head on the wall so you have to hold it for the duration. Cons: very loud traffic noise from early morning as you are on the main road to Corfu Town. Breakfast was awful, bacon, eggs, beans all cold and no microwave to heat. I actually bought my own cereal and yoghurt from a supermarket. Air con in room was very noisy and didn't work very well. We complained and they fixed it but still making weird noise. The WORST aspect of this hotel is the pool area. It is a disgrace with ancient sun loungers, dirty pool and boarded up snack bar. We took one look at it and went to the sister hotel Albatross where we were charged €7 per day for 2 loungers. I had seen a video of Alkionis before booking and the pool area is falsely represented. We did enjoy our holiday but this hotel was a complete disappointment.

The only thing good about this hotel is that is at the beach. Everthing else was miserable. Especcially breakfast. Dishes not cleaned well, they put leftovers from dinner, food was always burned. Once we found bitten cookie left for breakfast!
