The Outpost

We stayed four nights at The Outpost which we chose deliberately for the birdwatching potential in the area as well as the beautiful lodge itself. We were not disappointed. Our guide, Christa, led us on outstanding game drives, finding circa 100 bird species for us. In addition, we enjoyed not having to "chase the big 5" and instead we loved seeing the smaller game - particularly the elephant shrew, bushbabies and civets spotted on the way back to the lodge after our sundowners. The lodge itself was exceptional. Very friendly staff, wonderful food (including catering for my "odd" dietary requirements!) and our room was gorgeous. Definitely a memorable experience.

This lodge is located in the northern Kruger. Gorgeous location and out of this world views. A birders paradise but if you are wanting to see lots of game it was a bit light. The staff were amazing and the food was mouth watering!!

This is a real gem in the north of The Kruger National Park. Undoubtedly the most scenic and beautiful part of Kruger which views that almost don't seem real. We even got to appreciate this beautiful scenery from our beds (shower, bath, lounger) in our room which was a real treat. The food was delicious and the staff were first class. Even though we didn't get to view a lot of big game (lions and elephant), we did get to learn about the smaller animals, insects and flora which was very interesting.

Beautiful place, great attentive staff, great food, every detail attended to. The Game drives and Guide were excellent. A wonderful experience.

We were fortunate to spend our honeymoon at the Outpost Lodge. This had been a dream of us since we got engaged. Besides the breath taking views from the rooms, the quality of service was outstanding. Book a massage whilst you have the most beautiful view of the Mopani and Baobab landscape. Be sure not to be on a diets as the food was out of this world!! ALL staff was well trained - from housekeeping, barista, waiters, massage therapists, management to guides. We had Keegan as our guide - his knowledge on birds is extraordinary. If you want to experience true tranquillity, Outpost is the place to be. This is not your average lodge like in the Southern regions. Beautiful views, birding , trees and nocturnal animals should be on your wish list for sightings.

Outpost was in every way beyond our expectations, the situation stunning, the concept intriguing, the staff delightful, and the accommodation and food just excellent.

Amazing location. We stayed at the treetop suite. Very informative game drives with amazing refreshment stops.

My stay at the Outpost was exceptional! The staff gave us a warm welcome upon arrival, I instatntly felt at home as the trees gave us the breeze and calm we needed after a day of travel. I had the bushview and enjoyed 180 degree views of the outstretched landscape that was populated with Baobab trees. The sound of the animals living while I drifted off to sleep will stay with me forever. The food was divine! The staff was warm and generous with kindness. Life is sweet, easy at The Outpost and I will definitely be returning!

Game drives with Christa were phenomenal her knowledge and storytelling were excellent. The location, accommodation and views are spectacular. The food and staff were great. Thank you Dylan and Ashleigh for going the extra mile in making my stay unforgettable.
