What a wonderful experience! The friendliest staff you will ever meet. Food was excellent, lovely views and the tents were luxurious. We will definitely go back! The masaage in our room was a special treat. Akani, our guide had a good knowledge of the bush and animals.

The location is absolutely perfect! We were blown away by the service, each staff member calls you by name. The meals were 5star(thank you for going the extra mile to feed my 2 hungry teenagers). Bongs, our game ranger’s bird knowledge was implacable! Our highlight was the bush walk with FP. He is so passionate about his job and made the walk so interesting.

It was a privilege to be able to spend 3 nights in the Makuleke Contractual Park at Return Africa’s tented camp. Everything was beyond wonderful - from the team who looked after us and fed us so well, to the luxury and prime position of the tents, to the great birding, historical sites, and insights from the Makuleke people. Wish we could have stayed longer but will definitely be back.

What a place! Mind blowing! The beauty of the river, the animals visiting to drink and swim all day long, the elephants walking up river in the moonlight, the scarlet color of the setting sun on the water, there green glow in the fever tree forrest, the majesty of the Lanner Gorge. I could go on and fill up pages! The food! The hospitality! The warmth of the staff! The beauty of the decor! The sound of the birds at dawn. As I say to friends: This is the most beautiful place I have ever visited. And I am well traveled! I have only one caveat: you will be very, very sad to leave... and you will be instantly planning your "return."

I’m writing this review thinking about what makes this place so special and most of all what makes me feel like I want to return again! It’s a magic combination of things: peaceful location, people ( the staff is great) everyone calls you by name and you feel like in a family. The tented room is beautiful, with fantastic views on the river. Pafuri area is wild and out of the beaten track. Some special people that contribute to feel us so good: Enos, Ezra, Ezaia, Ellen, Kim , the housekeeping girls as well ( sorry but I don’t remember all the names and sorry if I write some names in a wrong way). Can’t wait to be back soon! Thanks to return Africa!!!

Pafuri River Tented Camp is a truly immersive bush experience. The landscape, history and natural beauty of the Makuleke region is awe inspiring. The camp blends in beautifully with the surrounding riverine forest and the Levhuhu river is a stunning backdrop for an ever changing scene of animals and birds drinking from its waters.

Lodge & units situated on the Luvuvhu River that "buzzes" with wildlife , from Elephants to buffalo & Nyala to Crocs chasing warthog & bird life unsurpassed. Staff excellent & our guide Andile extremely knowledgeable on the wildlife & in particular the multitude of birds that are in the area !!
