The room was very spacious, clean, beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Truly superb! The elevator was broken so we had to use the stairs. The room was 2 floors below ground and we seriously wondered how we would get out in case of a fire. We shortened our stay and left after one night for that reason: we did not feel safe. Too bad for such a nice setting!

The staff was VERY POLITE and they're the best thing about this hotel. It's a creepy place. The elevator is one of those industrial ones, you have to keep holding the button to make it move. If someone leaves the grid open, it doesn't move from floor to floor. Very inconvenient when you're holding bags, and not accessible at all. The rooms are enormous with edgy decoration, but a closer look reveals furniture that has been severely worn out, to the point of being uncomfortable. There's a thin line separating design choices from stooping. There's no housekeeping, nobody goes into your room. The fire alarm went off at 2 am waking everybody up. There was a pipe dripping non-stop in my room, making it impossible to sleep. There are deep holes and indentations on the floor, covered by rugs. I've injured my ankle and it's costing me money to get it fixed. The bath/shower is poorly planned, every shower floods the entire bathroom - and it stays that way, with no housekeeping. The beds come straight from a scary movie, cracking with every movement. They don't have blackout drapes, making it hard to sleep on long spring & summer days. The lobby was filthy-dirty, even if it hasn't been snowing for about 1 month now. Can’t say anything about the breakfast because we couldn’t find it. There was never anybody at the front desk to ask. If you like that underground, vilain-from-a-james-bond-movie vibe, you're in for a treat. It's rather scenic. Run from it if you're looking for comfort.

The Hotel website is a complete lie. The website description for the hotel describes every room with a full kitchen. Wrong; the room did not have a kitchen when we checked in. We had to change rooms; fortunately, one room not booked had a full kitchen. The hotel website says complimentary breakfast. There is no breakfast—another lie. The hotel did not have washcloths and explained that the owner had not paid the linen bill. They gave us hand towels for washcloths. During the three-day stay, no one came to the room to empty the trash after several attempts asking the clerk. The hotel does charge a $50 cleaning bill after you leave. Ridiculous. It is not an air B&B The sheets had so much bleach that one could have done five loads of washing based on the smell. My wife used to stay on business at The Loft Hotel several times before the pandemic. At that time, it was under different ownership. From talking to the hotel clerk, it is under new ownership, and obliviously the owner is not about quality. Upon checking out, after waiting 10 minutes for a clerk to come, she mentioned they might have to close because the bills had not been paid by the owner. Montreal has so many great hotels, but this is not one of them.

This hotel is definitely unique, although the building and rooms are gloomy and cold. It's hard to warm up to the place to feel comfortable in it. My loft was huge, so there's indeed lots of space. The bathroom alone was as big as a Manhattan hotel room. The bathroom was actually the most comfortable place to be, as it was modern and clean. The rest of the loft seemed reasonably clean, although the leather chairs were sticky. Bed was comfortable, but for some reason i found a toothpick in my bed. I certainly wouldn't stay here solo ever again, but it might work for a larger group of people who could bring some warmth to the place.

The room is big, it’s in old Montreal, that’s the good. The bad……, the a/c doesn’t work, it’s sauna, the hairdryer is broken, the microwave is broken, the shower wand is broken, the first aid kit that you are warned that if it’s not there you’ll be charged for…., is not there. The stopper for the bathroom sink is missing,….. the list goes on……, you’re paying fora top notch hotel, but getting a third rate motel. Service is not really available, front desk seemed to be nice people, but other than that you’re on your own. It could and should be an eclectic hotel, but it is just run down. Spend your money elsewhere.

Old World vibes ! Exactly what we were looking for in an old stone building in Montreal . This historic structure offered us a huge spacious loft startle room with upgrades and an eclectic vibe. Felt more like an apartment for the price ! Cobble stone streets, Latin quarter and walking distance to many desirable areas . We stayed in room 613 that was over 1300 square feet with a kitchen , king and queen bed . More space than we dreamed . Close to Vieux-port, Le Grande Rue ( great for families ) , Notre Dame Basilicus and more . The loft needed minor replacement upgrades of electrical , lamps and some drywall but that may have dulled the vibe to be honest . Thanks Loft Hotel !

We had stayed in this hotel twice before the health crisis, and for our new visit to Montreal, we did not hesitate for a moment when booking. What a disappointment 😢 This hotel has not been maintained for many months. The windows have not been cleaned for many weeks. For the room to be cleaned, you have to pay an extra $50. The night watchman is absent in the middle of the night, and you find yourself in the cold for 40 minutes waiting that he comes back and that we can access our room We will never go back there again The loft no longer has anything like a hotel Run away
