I stayed at Il Moscondoro with friends for a week while we toured Tuscany. Gemma and Massimo are friendly and down to earth, and they fix a great breakfast accompanied by barista-worthy cappuccino. (Many items are strictly gluten-free.) The B & B is near enough to the highway to be a convenient launching point, but far enough away that it feels private. If you are too tired to find a restaurant at the end of a busy day of touring, you can request dinner at the B & B or there is a fun pond-side restaurant nearby. The B & B rooms are nice, there’s a covered seating area in the back yard (where you can eat comfortably in time of COVID), AC units keep the rooms cool during the occasional scorching week in Tuscany, and the place is very pet friendly (but people who don’t have pets won’t feel like their space is invaded). As icing on the cake, Gemma even called and arranged a wine-tasting for us, and gave recommendations for things to see that were off the beaten path. And finally, though Il Moscondoro is in the midst of farmland, there are towns nearby if you need something. I am an American, but a long-time resident of Italy, and I can assure you that the Moscondoro was a pleasant experience from either point of view!
