Room dark and dirty, had to change as missing light and broken chair. Dangerous pool area with broken decking over large drop. No smoke detector, blood or poo mark on back of bathroom door. Litter around entrance and in surrounding streets. Had to wait 30 mins for breakfast service, then not given complete order. Definitely nowhere near a 4 star hotel, advise do not use

The hotel is good even if everything is very cramped, but the most important thing in a hotel is the staff who must above all be warm and respectful.
In this hotel (chosen because it is small with very few rooms), it is exactly the opposite: the staff does not even say hello in the morning, no respect! They do not care about the customers, they are just there to give a key! In terms of communication they have everything to learn!

Pros: great location, very friendly and helpful staff, best hotel breakfast we had in two weeks in Uruguay, room layout Cons: hotel needs some maintenance —tv in our room was not working, light on one side of bed broken, AC not working very well, pool deck has broken boards, And if there is a concert in the carnival museum venue across the street, you will not sleep, especially in the rooms in the front, until the concert ends at 1:30 a.m.

Wonderful small hotel in the heart of the Old City with extremely helpful and friendly front desk staff. We had paid for an early check in and when we arrived the room they gave us had not, in fact, been cleaned. They then immediately upgraded us to a larger room and gave us tickets to the Carnival competition at the Summer Theatre (the tickets are not expensive, but it was a very nice gesture). Since we'd just spent 24 hrs traveling, we appreciated being able get into a room early. Breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice and pastries etc. was fine and filling. We enjoyed the hotel's location across the street from the Port Market and an easy walk to many of the attractions in the Old City. The nicest artisan craft shop we saw in the city is only a block away. The bed was a real king-sized bed and the AC worked very well. We would definitely recommend for a few days in Montevideo.

The hospitality of this hotel is unmatched by anything I am used to in latin America. There was an issue at the parking garage and the staff made every effort to remedy it and were overly apologetic by the short wait we had. I would recommend staying here to anyone you're really in great hands and the location couldn't be better. As a bonus! There is a large parking garage.

We had no problems with the hotel, its location or cleanliness. However, we were double charged for our room back in March 2022 and 7 months later have still not received a refund. Upon check in the girl charged our credit card the incorrect amount for our booking. When I pointed out the error, she recharged my credit card in the correct amount and said she would issue a credit once she asked someone who knew how to process it. Shortly after we were issued a credit and given the appropriate slips indicating the 2 charges and the credit charges to my card. When we arrived home I noticed 2 charges from the hotel on my credit card statement but no credit. For some reason the credit has never processed to my credit card. Up on closer inspection of the credit slip I noticed it says INCORRECTO at the bottom and therefore never got processed. I have sent numerous emails trying contact someone at the hotel since this booking trying to get my $463.50 USD refund; and no one will return my emails or my phone calls. I even had the booking agency contact the hotel (***********) and they still will not correct this matter. This is not a big hotel (it has 21 rooms) and at the time of our stay it had very few bookings so reconciling this matter should not be a problem. I wonder if they make a practice of doing this type of thing??

In general it is a hotel with correct infrastructure and service, well located. What stood out during our stay was the kindness of the staff in general and the receptionist (Claudia) in particular. It is a very good option to stay in Motivideo.
