Cabañas Valle Campanas - Monteverde, Costa Rica
4.7/539 Reviews
We stayed here for two nights while exploring Monte Verde. The location was fantastic - we could walk into town for dinner (beware the way there very much uphill - great for us but may be difficult for some), but back at the hotel it was quiet and the grounds were beautiful. It felt like a real escape. Our kids loved the dogs and the hammock, and raved about the gallo pinto. Because the property is big, the cabins are pretty spread out, so we didn’t worry about our kids being kids and making some noise. The folks who run the place are lovely and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if we head back to Monteverde!

What an Amazing place! We will recommend it to everybody! We enjoyed our stay so much. The owner is such a great guy! Jose and Sharon the staff are incredible, very nice, friendly and helpfull. They booked the ziplines tour and ride for us and did our laundery super fast. The vibe of the place is cozy and it is beautifuly designed. It is a good place to get to know other travelers. The room was super clean. There are hot water in the shower. The location is perfect! Close to everything. The resturant next door called Open Kitchen is delicious, and the free Yoga class in the lobby is really cool.

Loved Sloth Backpackers. The hostel welcomed me with open arms the minute I arrived. Jeff at reception was super helpful! Gave me all the information I needed including the recommended tours. He helped with the shuttles in order to get from place to place. Shared kitchen was very clean as well as the dorm rooms Big bonus… hot water so that’s always fun!!

We had a marvellous 4 nights in a very friendly spot, made all the better by the mighty Rene who became our friend during our stay. Accommodation was more than adequate for the very reasonable price, & breakfast great with endless coffee. Location perfect with a couple of excellent sodas nearby. Rene was so knowledgeable about the area & gave us excellent tips - thank you!

Il riassetto e lavaggio piatti è in capo all'ospite

The hotel is well located! Close to the center, stop at the cloud forest right outside the hotel. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience, we were placed in a room of the wrong category, then it took a long time to sort it out and move us. Then the hot water did not work, we were offered to wash in the next room (this is uncomfortable, but better than not washing). What was most upsetting was the staff (one of the boys, the man at the reception, was friendly. But the one who greeted us showed with all his appearance and inaction that we were not welcome here. The girls at breakfast also behave in such a way that it’s scary to eat the food put out for breakfast. Only on the last day there were people (apparently managers) to whom their business was important. I ask you to draw the attention of the hotel owners to this and train your staff to work.
