I was skeptical to stay at a hostel but was pleasantly relieved upon arrival. Jonathan is outstanding in every way. He is communicative, attentive, considerate and extremely helpful. He works hard to ensure guests have a positive experience. Our studio was up the road a bit from the check in area. We loved it. The space was immaculate. It was quiet, peaceful, and walking distance to town. We were without a car and it was totally fine. If you don't mind being slightly away from the action, this is an excellent option. We sat on the porch and enjoyed the sounds of nature. Would stay again if we return to Monteverde.

It is inexpensive and clean. The photos misrepresent the room for 4 with 3 beds. It is a very small house away from the main property. It had a dehumidifier but no ac. It was clean and safe but not really as we expected.

Great shower. Comfy beds. You can book tours through them same price as anywhere else. But they help you pick the right thing for you and organise it. Great service. Very good value for money. Very sociable. Lots of people in kitchen. Well-equipped. Right next to bus stop for bus from San Jose. Bus stop to Monteverde is a few mins walk away. There are only lockers in the kitchen. And the kitchen is locked til 7am. But many people start their day much earlier. Also means if you need to catch an early morning bus you need to remember to get your stuff from the locker the night before. Kitchen gets yuck when lots of people using it. But that's more guests' fault.

Room and bed were comfy. Room has everything you need. It is fairly new. Suites are not near reception but they are in a quiet area.

Good place near monteverde
Room as seen on picture: really clean and simple. Close to the village so you can go on walk eating. As we confirmed in the email, you jave to pay cash when you get there, no credit card (just be aware)

Loved the pool and the wildlife around, clean and comfortable rooms with AC. Hammocks are nice touch. Check in/out was simple and the staff was very kind.

Very clean. Do not get confused or nervous by the name hostel. It is a studio with its own private bathroom and private kitchen. Large room and well stocked kitchen utensils. Service of the staff is excellent.

Cattleya was better than we expected! Our group was exploring Monteverde/Santa Elena for 2 days, and we were provided with a very clean, large private room (including our own mini kitchen and full fridge, in addition to the communal kitchen).
The reception area is separate (about 3 min drive) from the rooms, but not inconvenient. There are lots of restaurants nearby. We actually got food from a nearby grocery store and cooked in our room.
Overall, amazing price for what you get. It was perfect for our short stay and we would be happy to return!
