Viewing the website of this hotel the rooms looked updated, clean, and bright. Based on this I booked a room and paid top dollar for the low rated hotel. I was totally disgusted when I walked into the room. It had not been updated in many years, there was to fan or AC to cool the room off. The shampoo and body wash wall mounted containers were empty in the shower, the furniture was worn and looked dirty. I was able to see another room as the maid was cleaning so I could make a comparison. The hotel’s policy was no refunds and at almost $400 for one night I had no recourse but to stay. It has been my experience that booking through a third party you are not treated the same at the hotel for service or a decent room. I will never return or recommend this hotel to anyone.

The 2-star rating should be the ceiling of Monterey. Fortunately, I live upstairs. If my classmates stay there at night and sleep well, they won't mind. The sound insulation effect is very average, and the pillows in the double bed room are four square. 🙃

Shower curtain didn’t close all the way making the bathroom flood a little and I also noticed the curtains by the front door didn’t either so my daughter and I put our hair clips on them to make sure they stayed closed during our stay. Other than that everything was great but hopefully those two things can be improved.

The bed was supposed to be King...but it was a queen. The room was ok but nothing great. Bed was not very comfortable.

There was a $10 hidden parking fee per night. The toilet made strange noises off and on day and night - had to reflush to stop noise - but no telling when it would come back.
The hidden fee colored the rest of the stay at this hotel.
I do not recommend staying at this place unless the hidden fee is solved.

Place was comforting. Staff was really helpful and nice, they were able to answer concerns and questions also. The parking was clean and inviting, and the room was clean as well. Having an infant, we appreciated that this place had a microwave and refrigerator. A small thing was that we couldnt find the remote control in the room when it was time to wind down. Other than that, everything was great.

Really nice place to stay.. friendly staff, beautiful gardens.. ice machine not working.. should have a larger rubber mat for the shower. It was EXTREMELY slippery..The room and bathroom were super Clean however.. impressed!😉

We were put in a handicap room unsure as to why when never was requested. The room smelt dingy and old.
The shower was like having a laser beam shot at you with absolutely no hot water. When needing towels replenished we were only given new body towels not her face towels were given. Overall experience was not that great at all.

It was clean and quiet, perfect for a short stay. What I didn’t like was having to pay $10 for parking in a motel parking lot.
