Monterey Marriott
4.5/5125 Reviews
Very comfortable hotel conveniently located in downtown Monterey and short distance from 17 Mile Drive. Rooms are spacious and staff is very friendly. Room amenities are: individual sized coffee pot and mini fridge as well as standard hair dryer, toiletries and iron. Microwaves can be delivered to your room by request at no additional cost. The Marriott has a bar and serves breakfast (not included in room rate) and other meals. It is connected to the Monterey Convention Center so if you are attending a conference, this is the best place to be. If you need parking, be aware, only valet parking is available at $40 per day with in and out privileges. There are a couple parking garages with hourly rates within a couple block walk, they do not have in and out privileges. Valet service takes about 10-15 minutes to get your car depending on time of day. Mornings were a little longer wait. Wifi is not free unless you are a Bonvoy Member, you can sign up on the spot. Would stay here again.
Arbor Inn Monterey

The airport to the hotel should be the starting price, the Chinese-like driver actually received 25 knives, be careful of fellow villagers, lie to you without discussion. The hotel is a motel, it is clean, and the room assigned to me is not sunny. The waiter did not clean the next day, the room was not soundproof, the bed upstairs creaked, but the guests were more civilized and quiet. At this price, you can stay for two nights. Walk over to the den monte shopping center for fifteen minutes. No breakfast, no place to eat nearby, the hotel is a street.
Pelican Inn

The hotel in Monterey is really expensive, probably because it is the first stop of many self-driving highways 1, plus weekends, it costs almost 1,000 yuan to live in such a motel. There are various motels along the street where the hotel is located. This one is at the end of the street. Not far away is the shopping area, and driving to town is not far away. The hotel is an open space with free parking. No breakfast. The room is not big, the facilities and equipment are relatively old, and it has some taste. Fortunately, the windows can be opened for some ventilation. The air conditioner was very loud and noisy. It can only be said that there is no way to live in a store, the price is not very cost-effective.

This hotel is all about the service. Their staff are amazingly helpful and friendly. Their breakfast was more than I expected and they have a more than adequate spread. I had the twin family room with a fireplace. The room is a very good size. I did not use the fireplace as they had an electric heater and that was sufficient for me. The only issue with the room might be in the warmer months as they don't have air-conditioning and only have one ceiling fan. But given I was there in November , I was comfortable in the room. Although the hotel is a bit old, the room was well maintained and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is in a good location as its less than 10 mins walk to the downtown restaurants and shops. You pretty much can walk to most places from the hotel in about 15 mins or so. I will come back when I am in Monterey again. At this price , they are a very food option and I am glad I chose to stay here.
Stargazer Inn and Suites

I have no breakfast in the room, I don't know if it is available. There are many suites. The four-person suite that we have for three people is two beds, clean and good! Worth coming back next time, #breakfast#
Padre Oaks

The location of the hotel is easy to find, and the environment of the hotel is also very good. There is a parking space at the door of each room, and parking is also convenient. Hygiene is also ok. Although the bathroom is not big, it is quite adequate, and the separation of dry and wet is generally good. There is a microwave oven in the room, which can heat the food you bring. Remember that there are basically no hot water kettles and toothbrushes in the accommodation in this country. If you need hot water, bring your own hot water kettle, which is also very convenient. When I booked this shop, I didn’t ask for breakfast, so I didn’t know the situation of the breakfast, nor did I request services such as extra beds, so I don’t know if an extra bed is available, but I think it’s okay to bring children. There is a Vietnamese restaurant on the left side of the hotel entrance, and a Chinese restaurant a little farther away. There are many western restaurants nearby. It is very convenient to drive by car. When I arrived that day, because of the heavy rain, I couldn't make a good stroll around the town, but it was still very close by car to the town of Carmel.
