Faro Airport Flat 1 by Homing

We booked this in a hurry the night before as our initial flight ended up being cancelled. We were asked for an arrival time and said we would arrive at 12 noon and were told we would have lockbox info to access the room by 1030am. Beneath the apartment is a cafe with lovely, friendly staff. We hadn't received any info when we arrived so we had drinks there sat out in the sun. £2.09 for a very large wine and a bottle of beer. 4 hours later, still no info, so called *********** to try to find out how we got keys. *********** was very helpful and put us in touch with the apartment company. The woman was very rude, but we did then get access to the apartment. We had to hold the shower over our heads, the view was not very pretty from the balcony, and the bed was too hard for my husband's liking. However, the location was very good. We walked from the airport with our small cases (30 mins), there is a large supermarket, a xouple of nice restaurants and a pharmacy just a few minutes walk away. The apartment has a well equipped kitchen and TV in the small living area. It cost around 4 - 6 euros in a taxi into the centre of Faro. As it was so cheap, we didn't try the bus. O coreto restaurant was amazing. Delicious meat and wine and super service. It's definitely a highlight. Santa Maria cathedral is incredibly beautiful and well worth the low ticket cost. The interactive story tour (opposite the cathedral) was also different and fun. Overall, the apartment was a cheap and convenient base for our muni break, although personally, I wish I had paid for something slightly better as it was a treat for my husband's 40th.
