The room was comfortable if a little tired. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good to begin with but when the restaurant became very busy (serving 150 covers) it was like being in a school canteen so it was very noisy and often the food was only luke warm. The breakfasts were adequate but the hot option was often cold!

This Hotel was definitely not 4Star,Booked the Holiday via Newmarket Holidays. Food was average,Rooms Small not updated as brochure. Trip to Chianti Winery very Poor 3 Small Tasting ,No tour to see where Wine was made? Little nibbles of dried cheese, small slices of meat,& Pieces of stale bread in Olive Oil. Not worth £75 Very Poor Experience from Newmarket Holidays. As for the Reps Daniela was absolutely Useless. On checking in Hotel were given room key they said Room is that way, had to go down 3 lots of stairs 10 Steps then up in Tiny lift to 1st fLoor got to Room no lights? Had to go back to reception to get card to put in Wall socket , Start to unpack Safe needs a key back to Reception given key 10 € deposit, Not a good experience from Hotel Reception. On a Good Point Michaela Tour Guide was excellent.

After reading all the reviews on here I was worried about going to this hotel! Although many of the things said are true it is not that bad. I would not say it was a 4 * hotel more of a 3*. The bedrooms looked a bit tired and could do with a refurbishment, the air com worked well but the room was quite dark and small. I did wonder about the bedspread as I am sure they are not washed after every guest. I had to change room as the first room I had I was awake all night as all I could hear was water being flushed somewhere. The next room was quiet. I found the staff to be helpful and friendly. I was happy with the food and could always find something on the menu I liked, the desserts were very nice. It was a bit disappointing that the TV in the bar area only appeared when Italy played and not when England did. The coach could not drive up the road so you have to walk down the road for the trips and on arriving and leaving the hotel so perhaps not so good for someone with mobility problems.

The hotel is dated .The net curtains around the hotel are stained and old.The furnishings are old the whole place needs an overhaul to bring it up to a decent standard. The waiters and waitresses are very attentive, especially Simone! The reception staff are not people friendly .They don't greet you with a smile ,they can hardly lift their eyes form their work to hand you your keys each day and their daily interaction is non existent. We went with Newmarket Holidays .The two reps Danielle and Elizabeth are excellent staff who seem to be constantly at hand to help.Elizabeth even had a close family bereavement and was back to work after to one day to help Danielle. The hotel food was average .Great fish meals ,some great beef dishes and nice pasta. It was all quite salty ,so be aware. There is an area of some vegetables and salad to add to your meal each night .The bottles of wine addd up to your bill-for example red Syrah per bottle =24 euros and white Vermentino per bottle =9 Euros, a bottle of water = 3 Euros and 1 Coca Cola =6 Euros ,1 Tanqueray gin and tonic= 12 Euros. The location of the hotel is good with easy access to the lovely park and local bars and restaurants. The local tourist information centre is 50 metres away at the end of the Roda. The swimming pool was covered as it was not great weather's we did n't use it.Others did .It is mandatory to wear a purchased swimming hat and bath robes. It id not look as nice as the hotel pictures. We had a room with a balcony and the view is just of the front of the hotel ,so no great views. The last night we were there we found a cockroach in our room .We did not notify staff as there was another cockroach sighting in the dining room the following morning when we left and guests notified staff of this.I would not want to stay again due to this issue.Well done to. the restaurant staff ,we hope you have a good season!!

Have to say after reading the reviews I was a little worried. Hotel is spotlessly clean, breakfast was good other than the coffee. Evening meal was OK with few choices, We opted to eat out as we tend to like b and b option but unfortunately this wasn't available on our package with Newmarket. Excellent trips with fab tour guides Daniela and Elizabeth. Newmarket consider b and b options and we would definitely travel with you again

There is nothing good to say about it. One side over looks garbage dump, another side you have your neighbors patio guests looking into your room. The rooms are tired, No not water . Staff are not friendly. The rooms are awful. Run not walk away from this hotel. There a lot of hotels that are in the area that are far better. The coffee is horrible In this case you get exactly what you pay for,....

Do not be put off by the bad reviews of this hotel. We have just returned from a very enjoyable week in Tuscany based at this hotel. This was our first time using Newmarket Travel, and our philosophy is that the hotel is only a base and somewhere to sleep. Only after booking did I read the reviews and a bit of panic set in. On arrival the coach dropped us off two streets away and we had to walk to the hotel. A car was waiting to take our cases for us, and we thought that may have been the last we saw of them. Walking down the lane to the hotel we wondered what we had let ourselves in for, but the external appearance of the hotel was very nice. Check in was very easy, and quick. We had paid extra for a room with a balcony overlooking the pool. The room was light and airy, furniture was adequate, and a nice big bathroom with shower over the bath. It was a nice hot day, so the free air con is definitely an added bonus. Evening meal was at 19:30 and on the first night we didn't go to the restaurant until after 20:00. When we were looking for a table we were directed to a table already occupied by other Newmarket customers. This was not what we expected, however, we all got on extremely well with eacg other, and spent most evenings in their company and also ventured in to town and other trips with them. The food that we were served was very good. A choice of three starters and three main courses every night and a good selection of deserts. There was always something on the menu for everyone, and the quality was of a very high standard. Breakfast was a good selection of cold meats, cheese, breads, fruit and also hot bacon, scrambled eggs and boiled eggs. My only issue was that the coffee from the machine was never hot enough, however, if you asked one of the servers they would go away and make a nice hot coffee for you. The bar, lounge and outside seating area were very well kept and seating was very comfortable, and several nights were spent with our new friends enjoying a late night drink. The pool and surrounding area is quite small, and can't accommodate a great number of sunbeds, and like every other hotel/resort it is spoiled by people reserving sunbeds with there towels and not using the bed all day. As we were out most of the days it didn't affect us too much, but it was annoying when you did want to lie around the pool, selfish people had denied you this opportunity. Another of our concerns before arrival was some people had said about the noise from the bar area at night. We never experienced any of this, and our room was on the first floor directly above the entrance to the hotel. The first few nights of our stay there was a large group of young lads attending a sports camp staying at the hotel. Some nights in the restaurant they made presentations to individuals, and this could be quite noisy, and sometimes they would be hanging around the front of the hotel, but there was never any rowdiness, and normally they wee in bed by about 22:30

The breakfast was terrible, the room was tiered. We had a room at the front of the hotel ...upgraded to a balcony, what a waste of money, first night was a hen party in the pool area till midnight (well until we went to reception to complain...next afternoon tea time was a noisy kids party...next night was an 18th birthday party with rowdy music and singing till we complained again....I needn't go on just don't bother even booking it it's an awful place to play

Hotel and room not as expected or reviewed on Trip Advisor! Very poor condition room. Only one available socket to plug anything into, including the kettle and that was in the bathroom !! We’ve stayed in better 2 star bed and breakfast rooms, whilst travelling round Italy. Everything was dirty! Staff on reception were particularly unpleasant, to some of the Newmarket customers, on the organised trips. Restaurant and bar staff really made more of an effort, all round for everyone. Danielle, the new market rep, tried so hard to help everyone out but must have struggle with all the complaints. It’s a shame as our last experience with Newmarket Holidays was really good. We’ll never travel with Newmarket again.
