We went on a Newmarket Holiday and the hotel we picked was the Adua. I can honestly say that we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel. The check in was both courteous and friendly. We proceeded to our third room floor via the quaint if not quite tiny lift. The room was not large but it had sufficient wardrobe and drawer space. We had requested and paid for a balcony, which gave us extra room for relaxing. The bathroom while again not large was big enough. The food at the hotel was of a good standard and the waiting staff extremely friendly, we were very well looked after by Luly and Ylenia, Luly also doubled up as the bar lady. The room was cleaned daily and the lady who looked after our room was very friendly, even though she didn't speak English. The pool area was clean and well maintained and the pool water sparkled, we did find having to wear a swimming cap before entering the pool a little strange but amusing. The hotel is well situated in the centre of Montecatini and a short walk from the funicular, that takes you to Montecatini Alta, which is well worth a visit. And also a short walk to the train station. The trips we went on, while not having anything to do with the hotel, but arranged by Newmarket Travel, were excellent and our tour manager Daniella was knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. Our tip would be to get a room with a balcony for the added relaxation space.
