Hotel Michelangelo & Day Spa

Just back from Solo Classic Tuscany trip with Travel Department as always was very pleased overall with service. However would warn that the food in the Hotel Michangelo was way below acceptable. Breakfast was good but could do with proper juices they all tasted like diluted squash. The evening meals were very poor, a lot of fellow travellers ate out most evenings. The first night was good but went rapidly downhill, our tour guide addressed it with the hotel and on last night meal was better. Disappointing food and one night the hotel bar had run out of a lot of basic spirits ... we were told it was a delayed order. Also no tea/coffee facilities in room. Other than the food, the hotel a little dated could do with a little modernising and with phone usb chargers, but was clean, staff were lovely but food let them down. Also could be very noisy as you could hear from the rooms beside you ... toilets flushing, showers going, drawers being opened and closed (that was from a good few people not just that i had noisy people in room beside me). The empty bottles were put into the recycling bin very early every morning and was quite a noisy time around 6.30am. The trips were great and guide Tabatha was lovely lady and very helpful.

Super location and nice rooms. Unfortunately a lot of coach parties arrived during and stay so it was super busy. I actually caught covid from one of the party who coughed all over me :(( Also when I asked for a towel for poolside I was rudely spoken to. Breakfast nothing special and breakfast room too busy Would stay again but choose my time
Palazzo BelVedere

It is a unique establishment in the snese that it is a 5 star hotel in terms of facilities and amenities but a boutique hotel in terms of the way staff interact with the guests. I had the best 3 day retreat I could ever ask for. Silvia and Giulia from the spa were amazing and I can even already call them friends. Mahmoud at the restaurant and all the staff there were wonderful not to mention the tasty and diverse food options made by the experienced chef. Yoga with Anu and the group yoga class with live music on Sunday were just perfect. The room and hotel facilities are spectacular with great attention to detail. The location is also great, next to the funiculare to go to Montecatini Alto and 10 mns walk from down town and the nearby park. Will definitely be back.
Grand Hotel Tamerici & Principe

We had a very enjoyable week in this rather grand and classically Italian hotel, which is well placed for access to the town centre and maybe a couple of kilometres from the furnicular to visit Montecatini Alto. Our room was large, comfortable, immaculately clean, loads of storage and extra pillows and blankets available in the room which saved having to ask for them if required. We had a fourth floor street facing room, with rooftop and mountain views. There was some road noise, but not enough to spoil our stay. Food was adequate and service was a little chaotic on occasion.
Tuscany Inn

One night stay in Tuscany, at the Tuscany Inn Hotel. the staff were very friendly and our check in was easy. Our room was one of the biggest we have ever stayed in. And a massive bathroom, all designed to be wheelchair accessible. Comfortable bed and pillows, the bathroom was well appointed. We were let down by the included dinner though, had the vegetarian burger with tomatoes and peas, not overly impressed.
Grand Hotel Vittoria

As you can see from the photos, the exterior of the building and public areas are grand and delightful. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. But for those who want more of the nitty-gritty read on: Room: We were in room 124, which is a standard room near the elevator. Like most European hotels, the room is considerably small. I appreciated the large armoire, night stands, and drawers so that if one wanted, personal items can be stowed out of sight. I found the bed to be very firm, but have a PranaSleep mattress at home, which is super comfy. I read that the rooms were ”recently” renovated, but ours could have definitely used a touch-up. There was a mark that appeared to have been where someone killed (and smudged) a bug on the wall, and several spots where the walls were scuffed and chipped. Cleanliness: The housekeeping did a sufficient job of cleaning the room, and the dining areas were immaculate. What struck me as odd was the beautiful red carpet on the grand staircase was in need of a vacuum during our entire stay. Minute detail, for sure, but one that struck me as odd. Amenities: Here's where I think they could improve. There is not an iron in each room, however, they will bring one upon request. In my case they asked for it back 24 hours later, which was problematic for me, as all of our clothes needed ironing. I requested an iron four more times before I received another one, three days later. Sadly the one I was given was completely broken. (Good news: I learned to get wrinkles out of clothing by dampening the garment and using a hot hair dryer!) The toiletries were paltry and the bar of hand soap was the size and thickness of a quarter. I am imagining this is done for the sake of conservation, but be aware: if you are the ”DO NOT DISTURB” type, you will need to find housekeeping to stock up daily. The towels and bedding were all stain-free and seemed to be of decent quality. Temperature: We are from upstate NY and the room was very hot for us, even with the AC on the lowest temperature. We stayed in October and ended up sleeping with the windows open. Bathroom: The shower is incredibly small! If you drop your soap you would actually need to step out of the shower to pick it up! No joke! The water pressure is incredible, however, and there was always plenty of hot water. WiFi: Nearly non-existent. I have heard that they are planning to upgrade. Otherwise, you need to sit in the lobby or use the laptop they provide in the front area. Typical to Staff: Most of the staff was professional. We had many pleasant exchanges with a young waiter named Federico. The evening/night staff were not as pleasant and almost seemed bothered that they had to interact with patrons. Food: The breakfast was plentiful and consistent: a table full of breakfast pastries, cold cereal, melons, yogurt, scrambled eggs, muffins, bacon, sausage links, several types of cold cuts and cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes. We ate dinner at the hotel three times and so
