OMG - this place is amazing. Secluded but only a short walk into town, And, the owner, Annalisa, was the most accommodating host we have ever had for a B & B. Got lost the night of our arrival and it was raining ... Google Maps was sketchy with all the mid evil city walls. I finally gave up and gave Annalisa a call with a picture of where we were. She said my son will be there in 5 minutes. Beautiful lady!

This is our second time staying at Porta Castellana and it was even more wonderful the second time than the first. You can't get a better host than Annalisa and her wonderful family and staff. This place has all of the comfort of home and is in a beautiful setting. The rooms are well-appointed, clean and modern without losing the touch of the rustic setting. And you can't get a better breakfast! The town of Montalcino is a little sleepy this time of year (November) which has given us the time to enjoy this place. Just a short walk up a hill, you can be in the heart of the town and easily find a nice meal and lots of Brunello! Grazie Mille, Annalisa! If we could give you 10 stars, we would! If you can master the labyrinth of Montalcino's historic and tiny streets to find the hotel, brava(o). The owners were helpful to us as we went astray. Massimo was kind to drive to us and let us follow him to the hotel. Follow Annalisa's directions carefully! We were gifted with an upgrade. Many thanks to Annalisa for her generosity. The check-in was quick and simple. The room was comfortable and spacious. There was even 2 bathrooms. The bed's mattress and pillows were hard though and did not make for a comfortable or fitting sleep unfortunately. The breakfast was very good. Water was missing as well as was the ability to have another pot of hot water for tea. The price was fair for the summer. Another disappointment is that guests are requested to check out and depart by 10 am. We were allowed to stay until 11 am. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. Would I return to stay at Porta Castellana? Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Yes.

Excellent accommodations at a great location. The rooms were spacious and bright. The kitchen was large and fully equipped. It was just a 10 minute walk to all the piazzas and restaurants, albeit up hill. The breakfasts (included) were excellent . Our hostess was knowledgeable and friendly.

We had a lovely 6 nights here. The accommodation is in a gorgeous setting and walking distance to the restaurants/bars/shops in Montalcino. Our host Analisa (Dida) was brilliant, very friendly and always happy to help plan your day and provide recommendations. We are missing the breakfasts they were great. We have no hesitation In recommending Porta Castellana.

Ótima hospedagem em Montalcino! Quarto confortável, café da manhã servido no jardim com lindo visual, estacionamento e muito perto do centrinho da vila. A dona Analissa é muito simpática e prestativa, nos fazendo sentir em casa e dando várias dicas sobre o passeios e restaurantes. Adoramos!

ho soggiornato con mia moglie in questo B&B a Montalcino, posto carino e tranquillo a pochissimi minuti dal centro camera non grandissima ma con tutto quello che serve compreso di frigo bar molto pulita e colazione portata in camera con quello che si concorda la sera prima con la titolare la signora Dida direi una bella persona disponibile a esaudire le curiosità e dare indicazioni sui luoghi da visitare e dove andare a pranzo/cena davvero brava brava brava!!! un bel servizio è il parcheggio privato. Grazie di tutto Dida

Reservamos o apartamento com 60m2 e foi um dos apartamentos mais bem decorados e confortáveis no qual já ficamos! Tudo era lindo e bem cuidado! A proprietária tinha um bom gosto incrível, e cada detalhe da decoração me deixou mais encantada, me faltam palavras para descrever o quanto adoramos a hospedagem! A cozinha equipada foi cuidadosamente pensada, com louças lindas, talheres, taças e copos, tudo muito bem cuidado. A localização da propriedade era perfeita, embora tivesse algumas dificuldades para chegar e sair da cidade com um carro um pouco mais largo, já que havia ruas muito estreitas dentro das muralhas da cidade. Para conhecer Montalcino a localização era sensacional, a uma curta distância a pé do centro histórico. O ponto mais charmoso da hospedagem foi o nosso jantar sob a bela Oliveira da área externa do apartamento: inesquecível. Foi uma pena termos ficado hospedados ali somente dois dias, deu enorme tristeza quando tivemos que ir embora... A receptividade da proprietária foi simplesmente fantástica. Parabéns pela hospitalidade, pela propriedade e pelo extremo bom gosto que marcaram os nossos corações!
