We had a room with a tiny bathroom- the bed was reasonably comfortable, but the curtains were very thin, so we woke early. Breakfast was reasonable with an adequate choice- but the biggest problem was we couldn't find the place- I tried ringing but the lady didn't speak English- luckily the Tourist office were very helpful but due to the one way systems we had a 5km drive for a 100 metre walk. Maybe a smile from the owners would help, but none were forthcoming.

Fabulous town that maybe generates a fatigue to visitors by the hotel owners.First place where we haven’t received an open welcome not helped by our lack of German. Could understand enough of where to park the car at the main carpark. Breakfast clashed with guests booking out so the lady was stressed and blunt at best for a request of water. Interesting building and with an upgraded room was comfortable with an antiquated charm. Reasonable price

Like out of Hammer House of Horrors. Dark, very unfriendly and basic, not worth the money. Breakfast only just adequate, coffee awful, but rest no more than OK. Couple who ran it seemed to regard guests as an inconvenience and we did not see a smile or a greeting.

Authentic traditional German hotel in quiet old town of Monschau. Welcoming for our dog and in perfect location for eating out and souvenir shopping. Stunning decor in the lobby sets the scene nicely. Room quite small but good for one night. We didn’t get to try the restaurant.

We arrived just as the flood had hit the neighbouring areas. Our booking was made long before and the destination chosen for closeness to both Aachen and mountain walks. Very serviceminded staff. The room was on 2nd floor with no elevator, but fine for us. Small family run operation by former ballet stars.

Mitten in der Altstadt von Monschau liegt das Hotel Graf Rolshausen. Wir waren im März für 1 Tag, um uns von einer Wanderung zu erholen. Es ist ein ganz altes (400 Jahre) Haus. Und so wunderschön alt ist auch die Einrichtung. Alte tolle Holzbalken, Kamine und Treppen. Dagegen war das Zimmer modern (Einrichtung 70erJahre). Alles ist in einem tollen Zustand. Und, alles ist sehr sauber. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Inhaber erzählte uns, wie er das Haus vorfand und renovieren ließ. Das war sehr nett. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und vielseitig. Das Geschirr sehr schön. Auch konnte man Kaffee nach bestellen. Der Preis für die Übernachtung war sehr günstig.

Heerlijk na een etappe van de Eifelsteig sliepen we hier. Receptie zeer oudbollg.. maar daardoor ook wel weer heel grappig.. hier heeft de tijd stilgestaan.. kamer klein.. maar prima. Neem wel een stekkerdoos mee. Badkamer.. heeeeel klein.. gelukkig zijn wij slank.. maar oh.. wat een zalige douche! Ontbijt was heerlijk.. jammer dat de mensen zo stug waren.. maar het was een fijne plek!

Pour le prix de 560 Euros ( 2 nuits et petits déjeuner) on nous as attribué une chambre de 12 M2 avec lavabo dans la chambre, quand à la douche , il faut passer au dessus du wc pour y accéder, lequel wc laisse à peine de place pour les jambes, une fois assis je pouvais appuyer ma tête au mur de face!!!!!! Le lit parfait mais une seule lampe de chevet et la penderie : une armoire de Barbie ! .Alors où était la chambre prévue avec coin salon, canapé,bureau et salle de bain ????? A ce prix , je m'attendais à tout autre chose.J'ignore si l'erreur vient de l'hôtel ou de Booking mais rien ne justifie le prix !

Hotel via boeking site geboekt, 2 nachten voor 130,- met ontbijt en dat is ook méér dan voldoende. Hotel is oud, dat kan natuurlijk, maar de bedden en matrassen zijn ook heel oud, matrassen helemaal doorgelegen, dus met rugpijn opstaan. Rest van meubilair ook jaren 70. Badkamer heel klein, je kunt je eigen amper draaien in deze ruimte. Tegels ook allemaal in beige, bruin en nog meer van deze vrolijke kleuren! Kamer en badkamer waren wel schoon. Ontbijt stelt echt niets voor. Één soort broodjes, leken wel van rubber , geen brood en dergelijke. Zoetigheid in voorverpakte kuipjes, 3 soorten beleg, beetje yoghurt en dat was het! Koffie werd in kannetje aan tafel gebracht. Al vaak in hotels geweest, maar kwa ontbijt een van de minste die we hebben meegemaakt. Parkeren bij hotel kan ook niet, je kunt parkeren op parking Burgau voor 7,- per 24 uur op een kleine 6/7 minuutjes wandelen. Wifi in de kamer ook onbruikbaar. Voor ons, als er een volgende keer zou zijn, toch maar een ander hotel.
