The first thing you’ll hear when you arrive are birds chirping. It’s like stepping into Garden of Eden. The hotel is world class in terms of architecture, amenities, service and history. The concierge is very helpful and knowledgeable, they gave me a personalised itinerary suggestions when I checked in, arranged taxis, and even made sure to check on my safety as I am a solo lady travelling in Portugal. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful retreat. It’s a perfect getaway for stressed out business travellers.

Best hotel ever, specially for families with kids. Amazing comfortable room with modest but yet amazing design, atmosphere and service. Great activities for kids. Amazing SPA and Winery. And even a nice village with castle just a few minutes away. Can’t wait to visit soon again!

Everything about the Sao Lourenço do Barrocal Farmscape was 5 stars. The staff, food and lodging are all amazing. Tatianna, João and the rest do the dining staff were always so polite and willing to talk with us. The food is outstanding. Truly farm to table. Everything is so fresh. I learned so much about the local olive oil process and the pumpkin jam is to die for. I hope to come back!

Our stay was nothing short of magical, like something out of a story. The food, the land, the people. We felt so welcomed and its truly a place to rest and play. To disconnect, and reconnect to all the things that nourish. The estate is immaculate, the activities are fun, the food is incredible, and the warmth of the staff is unmatched.

The setting is serene, and the accommodations spacious and so very comfortable. Every vista is sublime: from the grapes hanging low from vines just above our door to the sweep of hills on the horizons. My family of adult children and I particularly enjoyed the nature walk when we saw the incredible garden and learned much about the area. We had a similar evening tour and saw wonderful stars. The food is very local, very fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed, and we enjoyed a lovely cottage with space to gather on the first floor and generously sized bedrooms and baths on the second floor. The welcoming and friendly staff is the very best thing about this fabulous retreat.

Im hesitant to give a good recommendation because I don’t want this place to get overcrowded. This is a place like no other place. It is transformative. You go here to relax and recharge and reconnect with nature. There is so much for kids and adults to do or you can just relax in the pool and enjoy delicious food at the bar, restaurant or bbq.
