We loved our stay at the wild glamping. The food was really good, the rooms were very clean. The open air bathroom was magnificent, and the people were kind and welcoming.

Such a lovely bubble to stay in amongst gorgeous scenery. The glamping pods are comfortable and well air conditioned, and the outside bathroom was excellent with a strong, hot shower. The breakfast and dinners were delicious, with good vegetarian options. We really enjoyed the river safari, and were lucky enough to see crocodiles and elephants in the wild. We also enjoyed the village tour by a local, where we saw more wild elephants and learnt a lot about the history of the tribe.

Fantastic glamping experience at a beautiful resort with very comfortable tents and delicious food. We went on two safaris with our guide Udara — although we didn’t see many animals, Udara’s deep knowledge and profound passion made the experience truly special. We warmly recommend this wonderful place!

Terrible service all around, canceled multiple day excursions that we had schedule over a MONTH in advance so they could serve a different family who booked reservations after us. When my wife questioned management about why our excursions were suddenly rescheduled from an afternoon excursion to one at 5am, she was treated with hostility. 5 men from the staff surrounded her and told her there was nothing that could be done and to not call our travel agent. We ended up doing the lake excursion due to having no other choice. It was also a poor experience, the boat’s engine kept breaking down and the food the hotel packed for us was terrible. Inedible. After calling our travel agent and confirming that it was the hotel who rescheduled our excursions, we decided to leave early without being issued a refund, yes, it was that bad. Very overcrowded pool area, bad food and inattentive service. The rooms themselves are also cramped, with poor AC systems that were insufficient for the heat of the area and size of the rooms. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT come here. You will be disappointed. We are generally very positive when it comes to reviews but felt obligated to share how terrible this experience was.

Wonderful stay! We were in the family accommodation which was clean, spacious, air conditioned, large terrace with beautiful views and the best shower any of us have ever had. The food was fresh and very good, and they also took the time to explain which dishes my coeliac daughter could eat. She said it’s the best food she‘s eaten during our stay in Sri Lanka. The service was excellent, with a very warm welcome. Everybody was very helpful and informative, with a guided walk around the site giving us an insight into the ethos behind the hotel. The jeep safari felt more authentic than others we have done - fewer sightings of elephants, but a more natural experience in the beautiful park. Luxurious and peaceful - we wish we could stay longer.

Our stay at Wild Glamping Gal Oya was one of the true highlights of our trip. If you’re looking for a peaceful, nature-immersed, yet incredibly comfortable experience, this is it. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed, relaxed, and well taken care of. The location is simply stunning. Wide open landscapes, misty mountains in the morning, and nothing but birdsong and breeze for company. The tents are spacious, beautifully designed, and full of thoughtful touches. The open-air bathrooms were a favourite, and having air conditioning and real beds in the middle of the wild was pure magic. Big shoutout to Tilin, who guided us on unforgettable nature walks. Calm, knowledgeable, and patient with all our questions. He made every lazy step feel like part of something bigger. And hats off to Rohan, who always seemed to appear at the right moment with cold water and a warm smile. That kind of service sticks with you. Food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Simple meals done with care and local flavour. And the pool? A total dream after a long, hot day of adventuring. The whole Gal Oya team rocks. Kind, professional, and full of heart. You get the sense that everyone truly cares about this place and its guests. This isn’t just glamping. It’s a reset. A reminder of what matters. A perfect blend of wild and wonderful. Remote, peaceful, relaxing, beautiful luxury with amazing views. The food is excellent and varied. The staff friendly and attentive. The huts are absolutely amazing and really comfortable with everything you need including an outside area. The site is compact but spacious so not far to walk to the pool, bar and restaurant. The trips on offer are not to be missed. Our group walked in the forest, in search of elephants and lunched on a plateau with the Vedda. Such a beautiful experience to share. I would definitely return to this place.

Wild Glamping – Gal Oya is truly one of the best properties in Sri Lanka. Their commitment to sustainability is outstanding — among the finest we’ve seen anywhere in the country. From eco-friendly practices to sourcing fresh ingredients from their own garden, every detail reflects thoughtful care for the environment. The setting is absolutely magical — peaceful, remote, and surrounded by untouched nature. We spent two nights in a spacious family tent, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. The staff were warm, kind, and incredibly attentive, making our stay even more memorable. It’s the perfect place to relax, disconnect, and immerse yourself in nature. The birdlife alone is spectacular — we spotted so many species during our stay. We highly recommend staying at least two nights to truly enjoy everything this unique and beautiful property has to offer.
