Alkinoi Resort & Spa

Loved our stay at the Alkinoi Hotel. Gianni and the team could not of been nicer of more helpful. The hotel was modern, with effective air con and stunning views of Monemvasia. The pool was salt water with a good depth and size. The cocktails were delicious and the menu offered a tasty selection of different foods to suit all appetites. The hotel was easy to find with good parking and I would definitely go back if visiting Monemvasia.

I have nothing but praise for Alkinoi. Our room was absolutely perfect, spacious and modern, sparkling clean and totally comfortable. The bathroom had a large shower, plenty of room at the vanity for the grooming essentials, and plugs in the right places. There were so many different areas to enjoy the outdoor space, and they were all carefully maintained. The breakfast buffet had a variety of appetizing choices. I attribute a lot of this success to the wonderfully helpful staff and the superb management of Yiannis, who personally received us and escorted us to our room and in his friendly way seemed to have a good eye on all aspects of the hotel operation. We loved Alkinoi so much that we returned for a few unplanned days of rest at the end of our tiring but happy road trip.

Excellent food and good wine list with excellent Greek wines . We arrived late and it was still possible to dine (without reservation) . The service was professional and friendly. Good atmosphere, cosy environment and a nice terrace. We go back!

A good place to stay while visiting Monemvassia. Good clean and spacious rooms. there are facilities for a relaxed vacation, pool spa etc. (we were just for a day and did not have time to use them) a buffet breakfast is very good. Highly recommended.

Hotel Alkinoi Resort & Spa Monemvasia A brand new hotel which we understand opened this season (which might explain some of the teething problems) The positives are the outstanding views towards Monemvasia and the beautiful large (warm!) saltwater swimming pool and the terrace/garden. Breakfast was also excellent, a buffet with a wide choice of food on a delightful terrace - and the bar snacks were good; (there’s no restaurant facility) There’s plenty of parking (although taxis to the castle cost only about €5 and save a long hot walk up the road!) The rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, somewhat limited “freebies” in the bathroom and robes But although the staff tried very hard, the hotel wasn’t without its faults. It’s situated on the main road into town which generates some noise. A number of rooms have no sea view - the main feature of the site. On arrival, we were offered a junior suite (an upgrade from the superior room we’d booked) but we were disappointed to find it consisted of a small bedroom with no view and only a “false” window opening on to a corridor used by others (so no privacy if the window was open) and an adjoining small sitting room leading to a small terrace. If you strained your head around the corner there was a view of the sea - but it was too hot to sit outside anyway largely because the terrace also sited 2 large air conditioning units which discharged hot air! Another problem was that it proved impossible to connect to the wifi from our room. It was suggested this was because we had Mac devices which were incompatible with the system. (In fact we had Iphones and Ipads which were capable of connecting to the wifi in other parts of the hotel so it was clearly our room which was the problem) The bathroom was spacious and well appointed but with a window opening onto the same corridor We were offered complimentary 30 minute massages in the Spa which were ok although the organisation seemed a little chaotic So all in all, we were left a little underwhelmed with the experience, particularly given the cost was relatively higher than we were paying elsewhere. Hopefully the service issues can be resolved - but this still leaves other issues which unfortunately can’t be changed. Would we return? Possibly - but only uf we could be guaranteed sea view and working wifi

We stayed here for a night in one of the large suites and really enjoyed our stay. Very modern design throughout the hotel, and our room had a fantastic view of Monemvasia. The brunch was incredible with a nice area to eat with ocean views, and the nightly price was reasonable. I don’t think you need to stay in actual Monemvasia, as this hotel was a a short 5 min drive away. Highly recommended!
