Ardamis

Our room was large and comfortable, with 3 levels: one for the bedroom, one for the living area, and one for the bathroom. (This is a hilly area and the buildings are original, so the multi-levels are to be expected.) There was a small kitchenette with a refrigerator, sink, and kettle. We had our own seating area outside our room but did not use it. Instead, we enjoyed the terrace with a view of the water.

An absolute gem of a property. Close to the towns entrance and great staff. Rooms are amazing

Perfect, but not for those with mobility issues Absolutely magical town and adorable accommodations, but you may want to avoid if you have any elders in your traveling party. There are many steep, uneven, and slanted steps within the castle and down to the Ardamis hotel. I did not realize when I booked that the rooms would be multi-level, with bathrooms and beds separated by several stairs or up/down a whole flight. Definitely not ideal for the 90-year old man we had traveling with us! The host was SO kind though, letting us view all the available rooms to find the one that would work best for us. She really bent over backwards to help us, and I would stay there again (next time without my elderly father-in-law). The rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. It felt like sleeping in a luxurious castle! I wish we had spent a 3rd night; only 1 full day in Monemvasia was not enough. The hike to the top was spectacular, and you have to stop at the wine, honey, and olive oil shop for tastings (and to bring home tasty souvenirs)!
