Great value for money through Trip. Yes, the place is a bit outdated, hallways a bit noisy (doors) and the breakfast is basic. But the location is nice and I appreciated this more compared to the places I've stayed in the area that were almost double the price.

An old hotel, but with some points in its favour. A location that offers fabulous views of Silves Castle, a very pleasant pool and free parking. Otherwise, good mattresses, facilities from the 70s and the occasional ant in the room, but we wouldn't ask for much more for the price.

Superb views day and night of the beautiful castle. Bathrooms lovely. Powerful showers very clean. Bedroom comfortable clean and good considering the star rating. The breakfast was excellent. The terrace was a great place for drinks and the pool was superb. Plenty of sunbeds. No pool towels provided though. All in all a gem of a hotel we will be back.

Hotel is a bit scarey. Pool is beautiful, breakfast was good but rooms are not good. Beds were like slabs. Tv like postage stamp. We lost power in the entire hotel at 10:00pm. The air was shut down and it was 80+ in the room. Not many other choices in that area.

Miserable staff , shambolic booking in , and dinner service. Food was pretty much inedible . A so-called accessible row room had only a bath and was absolutely not fit for purpose for anyone with mobility issues. The rooms were tired, the bed creaky and the bathroom tiny. Having asked for a quiet room, we had a room over the bar where people were rowdy until late, and the road was only a few metres away. Avoid at all costs.

Having stayed here many times before, I was not disappointed when I stayed again for 9 nights this month. Hotel comfortable, good breakfast and great helpful staff. The hotel being on the edge of the city enjoys views of the castle etc. across the valley. I have never driven in Portugal but there is a railway station only a little way from the hotel, but up a hill, and you can travel to many places by train at very reasonable prices on the Algarve as far as the Portuguese/Spanish border one way and as far as Lagos the other way with many stops in between. Bus services are also quite good.

Just spent a week re- visit to this hotel the rooms are clean the staff are excellent and helpful. This is the eighth visit by my brother and myself to this friendly town. We will return and spend time with people we have got to know. The breakfast was plentiful.

While there's no denying that the hotel is dated and some refurbishment would be welcome, all the essential elements were there. We slept well in a firm but comfy bed, WiFi was fast and reliable, Aircon efficient and the old fashioned looking shower was surprisingly fast and hot 👌 We only stayed for one night for a night out in Silves - a great little town with loads to explore and plenty of good restaurants and cafes - and we had a room with a huge terrace with a fabulous view of the town and castle. There is a good sized pool (plus kids pool) in a nice garden area, well sited to get full sun well into the afternoon. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to come again.

Most things worked in the room. Shower, heater etc. Walls a bit thin and could hear others in bathroom during the night. Lovely view of the old town castle from my room. Great value breakfast. Nice gardens.
