B&B HOTEL Mönchengladbach

It's close to the station and the surrounding living facilities are pretty good. I still feel it's not safe when going out at night. After all, the lighting is relatively dark. Hygiene: average Facilities: General business hotel

On the way home from our summer holiday in northern Germany, we stopped off in Mönchengladbach to visit a friend. The hotel is simply a disgrace, even if it was only for one night. It starts when we check in. We see a note at reception saying that the (only) elevator is broken. The two employees at reception acknowledge this with a stupid laugh and the comment that we had our room on the first floor. It doesn't matter whether the room is on the first or fourth floor, because guests have different levels of mobility. There is actually a service for elevators in hotels that arrives as quickly as possible. But they probably wanted to save on the weekend surcharge for the technician. So we dragged our suitcases up to the first floor, through several doors that are set up in such a way that they slam into your back if you don't walk through them quickly enough. When we opened the door to the room, a cloud of stench hit us. Airing the room helped for a short time, but as soon as the windows were closed the smell came back again. The air conditioning is also useless. Even on the highest temperature setting it turned the room into an ice-cold cave. The so-called "breakfast buffet" is a joke. You get trays that are so small that almost nothing fits on them - anyone who thinks bad of this is a scoundrel. The selection is also poor. The fact that the yogurt is only available in mango flavor is another problem. But above all, this buffet is designed in such a way that people who are not exactly 1.80 meters tall have difficulty reaching everything. The fact that the "breakfast room" was also ice cold is apparently part of this hotel's business model - they let the guests freeze to save costs. The list could go on with the breakfast offering alone, but that would go beyond the scope here. Conclusion: This hotel is definitely not worth recommending. Although it is cheaper than the “better hotels”, that in no way justifies the smell, cold and a lousy breakfast.

Das Hotel erfüllte meine Erwartungen, Checkin ging schnell und unkompliziert, die Zimmer sind funktionell. Es gibt genügend Parkplätze, Frühstücksleistung war sehr gut. Es liegt - wie meistens bei B&B- im Industriegebiet, daher bietet die umliegende Gegend nicht sehr viel.
