Had the worst experience at the resort. I stayed for 2 nights on a business trip. First the white bathroom slippers are recycled and very dirty. You try to call the reception but the phones in the room don't work. Secondly, I made it clear that I have an early morning and the staff insisted that breakfast is served at 7.00am without exceptions. On getting to breakfast, nothing is ready, had to wait for the waiter to scramble around looking for meal tags while the chefs tried to put out a basic breakfast with cold boiled eggs putting me off completely. This was same case for day 2. The waiter kept complaining to me how the hotel is mismanaged with few staff doing all the work which left me feeling very uncomfortable. In the evening I tried getting a glass of wine at the bar, was served the first one and requested for a second only to be told it's now bottle service. Worst thing is that he called his colleague and they started discussing loudly so I could here that no hotel serves wine by the glass. Safe to say I will not be going back to the place.

DO NOT VISIT THE RESTAURANT This people are conmen. They have a different menu price. When we go to pay the prices are different and then they argue that they have updated the menu! Horrendous experience for us. The services subpar and apparently there is no one in charge - the person in charge was always ‘out of office’

A very un-safe place. Please do not visit Nyali Beach Resort Mombasa at any cost. We stayed this place thinking there is a lot of security. Our bedroom on First floor was broken in to while we were sleeping. Our Mobile phones Stolen. Very frightening experience. Resort owner Mr Bhikhu Shah promised to replace our phones, after 9 e-mails and several phone calls he has not done anything. Please do not visit this place .

Previously reviewed this hotel and gave it 5* however, we visited yesterday and were treated abysmally. We have been visiting this hotel for months now, sometimes just for drinks, sometimes for lunch, or dinner in the evenings. It appears the management want to charge 2000 shillings for anyone to enter the hotel when tourists are around. This allows them to use the pool. We only wanted a drink after a long day and it was 5pm. Not likely to pay 2,500/- for a cup of tea! The reception staff were highly abusive, called security, and threatened to call the police! We are in our late 60’s and run an NGO here in Kenya. The man in reception also told us that we didn’t know who we were dealing with and what he could do to us! Obviously we will not visit this hotel again in the future, nor will any visitors to the NGO. We will remove this hotel from our list of recommended hotels for visitors as the abuse is not something anyone should suffer. The man in reception also advised my husband he should go to Whitesands Hotel! Obviously Nyali Beach Holiday Resort doesn’t wish rich Mzungus to visit or stay so I suggest if you can afford it, look at the many other and better hotels in the area.

Amazing place! It was all that I wanted. Quiet, clean, great staff, spacious room, balcony, right on the beach, beautifully maintained gardens . Breakfast and restuarant room needs to be improved. Pool and pool bar excellent. Ample sitting area outdoors. Helpful and smiling staff. Well worth a visit.

It is worth the trip to this gem tucked away on Nyali Beach! Beautiful, clean, and safe, with a fantastic pool and poolside bar overlooking the soft white sand beach. The staff are all wonderfully helpful, attentive, and friendly. The restaurant is top notch, especially for Indian cuisine, though it has a wide ranging selection.

Have visited this hotel a few times though have never stayed here. Usually we call in for coffee and sometimes for a meal as it is situated on the beach with a lovely view of the ocean. From the outside, the rooms look really nice, and there is a pool which is on two levels. The service we have had each time we visit has always been good, the waiters friendly and helpful. The coffee and tea (my husband is a tea drinker) is good and always hot. The food we have eaten is excellent…tasty and very fresh with a good portion size. The hotel itself is small but always seems very clean. It is a short distance away from the public Nyali Beach which means the beach here is much quieter and more secluded. But if you want more excitement, you will find it only a short walk away. Camel rides are available on your doorstep. We live here, but from what we have seen and experienced, this hotel seems really nice.

My towel had 2 holes in it, when requested to change no one came from house keeping to get them, the reception lady handles everything and is probably overwhelmed, I had to leave early and requested them early breakfast a day prior which was not ready the next day, and neither did they make what I requested.
