Baobab Holiday Resort

Property is too old, bad design (not power outlets near the bed), no smart tv in the bedroom, only Chinese food is easy to get.

A wonderful relaxing 9 days all inclusive beach part of our holiday. Having been to this hotel on a number of occasions the main differences were the quality of the food and of course the monkeys!! The staff as usually apart from the very odd one were attentive and friendly. The hotel is going through some updating and building work which is required. Our superior room was again more than suitable but in need of updating. We would definitely go again even though we said it would be our last time. The company and management should be very proud of their staff. Jambo jambo kenya. ❤️

It's a bit of a trip from the airport so best to book an a/c car. The resort itself is one of the best in the area. Check-in was smooth and welcoming. Plenty of food options during breakfast/lunch/dinner. And special requests can be made in advance to the crew for dietary requirements [special veg/vegan]. two restaurants, both provide same food options. All inclusive drinks are normal juices, and alcoholic drinks are local brands. Others available but we found the local drinks better. Everything is literally cleaned daily. Clientele are international, so not only locals. So plenty of people sunbathing etc, a relaxed atmosphere, which is not felt on my other visit to Mombasa. One can wear bikinis around the pool and not feel awkward, unlike other resorts in Mombasa. Sun beds can be reserved with a towel. Poolside showers available. Rooms were clean spacious. Shower was not cramped and nice warm water when needed. beds are super comfy. and very quiet. For multi rooms with interconnecting doors, its best to book early and state to the resort you would like connecting rooms. our room was ground floor pool facing. there was some nice from poolside and music, but the view is great and quicker access to reception/pool. Each room has 2 water bottles, changed daily. I would recommend the all inclusive option. Mid meal snacks also available around the main pool area. Beach is good for walks and small kids. Local beach sales persons are pestering but go away if you ignore them and tell them no. There are guards at the beach entrance and some walking around the property, providing security. All items worked as they should, no loose fittings [hand rails, taps, handles etc]. If I visit Mombasa again I will 100% stay here again and would recommended it to anyone. I would recommend a stay of minimum 2 nights. I could stay there for weeks.

An excellent and relaxing stay at the Baobab. Wonderful location, rooms and crystal clear beach. But what makes this hotel standout above all others is how far every member of staff is willing to go to make your stay special, with everyone you come across greeting you with a warm smile or asking if there’s anything they can do for you. They truly are both a credit and an example to everyone in the industry. Thank you to everyone there especially Francis, Jagjit and Omari from dining, Bonifas from house keeping, Gabriel from the management team and of course Humphrey the barman who surprised us with a newly invented cocktail every day.

I must say that the resort was very nice the accommodation was also very nice and clean but the food in the all-inclusive restaurant was at best totally rubbish to a point were it was uneatable we stayed there for 22 nights take care when booking out of season as most things are closed there was only one restaurant open other then the very expensive fish restaurant which you have to pay for the only pools available was very noisy we stayed far to long here if you are not into very spicy food look elsewhere

The hotel is boring. Unless you’re going to just have a quiet vacation. Bring your own towels. Theirs are old and gross. Bathrooms are dirty. Phone in room never worked and was never fixed even after request. Fridge is filthy and barely works. Glass shelf is dusty. Tiles in the pool are chipped/broken/ or missing. But the staff was pleasant for sure. Overall I cannot recommend this hotel. I would never stay there again. The amount of money I paid here was not worth it at all.
