It's really really really run down i recommend they close the hotel temporarily, renovate, organise their staff and then relaunch. The property has good bones, great location but it 100% lacks in the hospitality experience. It wasn't nice ☹️☹️☹️☹️

I love a good boutique hotel and this one did not disappoint. The service was excellent and the accommodations were luxurious. I witnessed some of the most amazing sunrises from my King Suite balcony and was killed to sleep every night by the sounds of the Indian Ocean. The meals were excellent and some of the best food I had while in Kenya. I can’t wait to return after the renovations are all complete

Beautiful interesting Arabic building, we stayed in a huge beach facing suite. The breakfast was very enjoyable with plenty of choice, loved the coffee. We enjoyed taking a walk down the beach in the mornings. For the price - would expect Wi-Fi availability in the room. It also rained hard during the night which came through the closed windows and flooded onto the floor both nights we stayed - this was not too much of an issue, other than wet feet in the morning, luckily none of our belonging were near the area

1 / 5 Check in is 12 pm, and we have been waiting past 3 pm and our rooms still aren’t ready. The hotel is big or busy at all so there’s no excuse why there are guests still waiting. I’m addition, reception was bad at providing updates or compensating for wasting our time sitting around. If you can’t get the simple things right it’s just downhill spiral from there for the rest of the experience. This is just the day 0, I’m sure more issues will arise over the next few days. 1 star. Do no recommended. Never coming back.

I travel 100% for my profession and I must say, I have never experienced this kind of customers service in my life. EXCELLENT to say the least. The staff at Sun Africa were amazing, gracious, helpful, and personable. They made us feel like we were staying with family. We were because my group has made it a MUST for our future Kenya travel. The manager especially went above and beyond to make everything special. On the last evening of our stay, he arranged for us to have dinner on the lawn Oceanside. Who does that?! As I stated, superb! The ocean view balcony rooms are a must. The design and decor of the hotel also make for great photos. The food was tasty and fresh. Thank you to the Sun Africa staff for an amazing experience! We can’t wait to get back!

We had a group of 36. We were in Kenya on a mission trip and we stayed right on the beach at the resort. It was amazing. Easy the best part was the staff and the people like our wonderful manager and he was so awesome. The view was amazing and they had common areas with balconies and swings. The pool was delightful and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. I had a great time and will be back.

This was my first international trip. A day and a half and three flights later we arrived at the beautiful Sun Africa. Our room… beautiful and comfortable. The views… breathtaking. The service… excellent. The staff… very attentive and courteous. The food… delicious. We definitely plan to return.

Thank you Sun Africa Beach Resort! This hotel is fabulous! The staff and manager made sure we were comfortable at all times. The views of the Indian Ocean were breath taking and we had easy access to the beach! I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Mombassa!
