1. The place is horrible right from the check in. I regretted on day 1. We arrived from the airport at 9am in the morning with my 2 year old son. We found them setting down breakfast. We were so hungry and requested if we could join in. It was denied since it was time to close. We asked if we could buy al carte from the Tanga bar, the waiter casually responded to us to wait till 12noon since the Chef was not open yet. We requested for a small meal then for the child, we were told its against policy but luckily the customer care personnel called Isabela (he only +ve encounter) intervened and the boy was fed something. 2. The lady who was doing housekeeping in room 211 on dates 3-6th oct, kept coming to wake us up at 9am and requesting to take away the bedsheets that early even before we go for breakfast. I found it disturbing and had to keep requesting her to give us more time and come back when we are out for breakfast. Upon check out, we tipped her 200bob because frankly we were not happy at all with the service and then we heard her behind our back talking dismally to her colleague about the value of money she had been given. 3. The staff at the eating area are quite unfriendly and talk down casually to guests. One waiter, he always served the fish delicacy during lunch and dinner, was even hitting at me. I asked him 'ninyunyuzie mchuzi' and he responded in a weird tone, "naeza kunyunyuzie kitu kingine pia". Very disgusting. - They have an oversupply of Trainee/Intern waiters who keep taking away your plate before you even finish. You look away one second, the plate has already been cleared and you weren't done eating. 4. The staff at the swimming pool also complain how they are understaffed and how they don't enjoy their work with minimal pay. This translates in the quality of service given to your guests. 5. Let's not even go to the state of the rooms, very run down. The glasses for drinking water were washed right before my eyes in the bathroom sink (which has gunk build up btw) with the surface cleaning detergent and put back on the console table. I never used a glass again. 6. There're no child friendly meals. They keep recycling meals that didn't finish during breakfast, are served for lunch. Therefore there's no variety, you'll keep finding the same roast potatoes for breakfast/lunch/dinner. 7. Rita and Isabella were the only helpful and generally kind personnel in that hotel. Th management should consider training the staff or do an overhaul because there wasn't much, if any hospitality in that hotel.
