The staff was friendly, although the location was a bit far from Cradle Mountain. This was actually a benefit, as we enjoyed walking the trails and immersing ourselves in the natural beauty of the woods. The room had a lovely view of the forest and a balcony. We appreciated the amenities, including coffee, tea, and two packs of full-cream milk. While the rooms could have been better maintained, with some cobwebs on the ceiling, the breakfast and dinner were delicious, with options like bacon, eggs, sausages, and more.

If you are looking for a remote wilderness cabin up in the trees, then this place is it. The cabin we stayed in was not modern, but rustic and the bed was comfortable. The view and feeling from the balcony of being amongst the forest was nice and peaceful. The drive up to the retreat is on a gravel road, but in good condition. Appreciated that there was restaurant open for dinner, and we enjoyed the food there. Breakfast was included, but would have been great if the breakfast room could be renovated to provide a nicer setting or to include a view

Love the location although it’s a little difficult to reach. Breakfast is superb enjoyed it so much and the hospitality is good. We were received by Tracy and she is very good. The other staffs are equally good unfortunately I did not get their names. The surrounding is marvellous. The only down side is that wifi connection is weak in our room but very strong at the guest house . And no in room tv too. It’s very good to take you away from the outside world and bring you closer to nature. Will definitely return.

I highly recommend this hotel! Breakfast and dinner are great! And you can see kangaroos and possums at night! The only two downsides are that this hotel is deep in the mountains and forests, and the road signs are not obvious. Also, make an early reservation for dinner! It really takes a long time to wait...

Living in the forest, the air is fresh and you can get close to small animals.

The cabin in the forest has a great feel. There are several falls hiking routes near the hotel itself. It takes 30 minutes to drive to Cradle Mountain. Dining in the restaurant is slightly expensive.

I stayed in the most satisfactory hotel for 5 days in the whole trip to Tasmania. The cabin built in the wild forest is very harmonious with the whole environment and at the same time it is very comfortable to live in. The things are very complete, which is reflected in every small detail. At night, you can feed the wallabies behind the mountain, the wild ones. Hiking in the forest during the day and really enjoying the wild, we went to the famous Cradle Mountain the next day to tell the truth that I prefer the cabins, which are not over-developed and more primitive.

I have just returned home from my trip to Lemonthyme lodge and I must express the complete horror at this accommodation. There is only one road in and out of the location, and yet it is only a single lane road. This road is extremely hazardous with frequent blindspots as it winds up and down, and a very steep sheer drop on one side. Of great concern is the total lack of warning or signage, either physically present or in pre-arrival information. I have never experienced such abject terror as a driver as I did when using this 8km road, and my family are still concerningly shaken by the frightening experience. Further, when I addressed my concerns, both after we first got there yesterday afternoon, and then this morning when checking out (there was heavy rain overnight, which worried me greatly due to the potential to slide etc out of control and go over the egde), I was quickly dismissed and assumed to be from interstate and not familiar with Tasmanian roads or conditions. I have over 17 years experience of driving on Tasmanian roads, and almost 30 years total driving experience. I am gravely concerned that this highly dangerous road, that is without warning signs and alerts, will likely be the scene of a horrific accident with serious injury, if not fatalities. The accommodation itself was below average and expectations and again, I found to be quite hazardous. The entrance to the cottage was surrounded by significant tripping hazards, and the steps up dangerously slippery. The internal stairs were equally troublesome as they were unevenly spaced, and unevenly surfaced. I have never had such a poor and stressful experience in accommodation I paid significantly for. It was a far cry from the advertised "relaxing retreat"; it was like a trip to hell, a nightmare. I will be contacting relevant authorities in the morning to discuss the very dangerous road and to suggest trade at this venue be discontinued until a safer journey to and from can be guaranteed. It was the worst experience in my life, and I will never stay there again. Furthermore, I will be telling everyone I care about to avoid the place like the plague because it is a disaster waiting to happen.

Our previous stay 12 months ago was amazing! this time... total opposite. We walked into the reception area to checkin, and the young girl walked straight past us and into the kitchen where she stayed for the next 10 minutes. After numerous times of opening and closing the door and calling out our last resort was to phone in, she eventually came out not at all happy we had interrupted her. Then when we entered our room we easily noticed the bathroom hadnt been cleaned and not for just a day. There was mould and hair in the bottom of the shower, someones rubbish under the sink and the spa had red wine spilt in it? and they had still placed a clean seal over the plug! Our dining experience was awful as was most others that night. The staff(same girl from checkin) was clearly annoyed we kept interrupting her smoko break and kitchen chats, now im not sure if the chef was a Chris Hemsworth lookalike or not but there was something keeping those girls in there and from serving the customers. They all looked like they had just crawled out of bed, no uniform. We waited over an hour for our main and that was before the couple next to us even got their entree who had ordered 50 mins before us! Breakfast tasted like it had been left out in the cold for 30 mins before we got it... a terrible experience, terrible staff and dirty room. Last time the one waitress done it all on her own, looked neat and was polite, this time there 3 and they couldnt even be bothered to serve any of the guests. Wont be going back after this sadly.

Enjoyed a 2 night stay in a 2 bedroom cabin. The road up to the place is long & winding & would be a tough drive at night time. The accomm was clean & rustic but had everything we needed. Being in the middle of nowhere you need to take supplies but the shop had a few basics. The meals were very good & the service from all staff was excellent. The walking trail to Champagne Waterfall is difficult. Try the Bridal Veil Falla instead!! All round it was well worth as visit

The property is tired, Two bedroom cottage advertised with a fire place but this was tiled up and the room was heated with a heat pump which woke you up with a loud thump every time it kicked in, also the beds are small. They are cheapskates and want to add on charges to the inclusive breakfast that is included in the room rate. They have a small old laundry and charge $2 to use the washing machine. The recreation area is also tired and needs tiding up. Dinner is really basic, I had spare ribs and they looked and tasted like the pre cooked ones you buy at Cole’s. Only really positive side was the Lady checking is in who was lovely and very helpful.
