East Side Motel & Cabins

Dave's Eastside Motel and Cabins, is an unassuming small motel (we never saw the cabins), that offers inexpensive and comfortable accommodations. Our room (#3), was clean, cool (the A/C was already running), and quiet. Weather permitting, you'll likely find Dave, the proprietor, sitting outside at a corner table, chain-smoking Marlboros (there was a whole carton of them at the check-in desk), who will greet you warmly and provide you with any information you may (or may not) need. We had a few glitches during our stay. The toilet was plugged (Dave promptly fixed it), and we discovered that, with the A/C on, if you also run the fridge and the small microwave at the same time, you'll throw the breaker (which Dave also fixed). Still, it's the kind of mom-and-pop motel that's becoming a rare breed these days. And Dave clearly takes pride in having taken a property slated for demolition and turning it into a comfortable place for people to stay. We would return again.

David is a friendly guy who just doesn’t check you in. He wants to make sure that you have everything you need. We got the 2 queen room that has a kitchen with table and chairs, stove ms refrigerator. The bedroom with the 2 queen beds were in a different room The place is fabulous. Clean easy to get to. Priced right. Food is within walking distance.

This was my first visit to South Dakota and a friend recommended Dave’s Eastside. I was not disappointed. Our rental was clean and cozy. Everything we needed was available. Dave and Cindy were friendly and helpful. We can’t wait for our next visit to South Dakota; as we will definitely be staying here again.

The motel rooms in the traditional main unit (not cabins) have been recently renovated, smart, comfortable and with all amenities. The bedding, bath and sofa were great! The staff was friendly and helpful for us to get to know Mobridge during our half day stay.

We were welcomed and cared for and got a good night's sleep in this unpretentious hotel. Clean and complete, you can tell that a lot of thought and interest went into making the room perfect for guests.
