The hotel provides extremely comfortable rooms with premium bedding and toiletries. Guests appreciate the peaceful location near town and access to nearby attractions. However, some find it overpriced for the service offered.

My wife and I took some time to stop by Sorrel and visit their beautiful property. It is truly an amazing place to be. We arrived in the morning to go on a horseback tour through their 50+ acres of property running along the Colorado river. Katie was our wrangler and our rides for the day were named Sippy and Oreo! Katie took us on a beautiful ride and gave us some great knowledge on the area along the way. 10/10 recommend if you visit Moab

This place was amazing and every way. The beds were comfortable. The staff was amazing across-the-board. We had the greatest experience at this location. I would highly recommend Staying in the suites it was very comfortable and quiet. Taren and Megan were so fun and really made this trip for us in the restaurant. Rooms were kept up without any issue. Cleaning staff replaced everything daily without fail. Would highly recommend this place!

My girlfriend and I went to the Thanksgiving dinner 2024. We expected a gourmet meal for $95pp but it wasn’t to be. Lukewarm turkey with cold gravy, a stuffing which really defied explanation, no potatoes, undercooked and over salted broccoli and Brussels sprouts… The whole experience was completely underwhelming and sad. Neither of us had ever experienced stuffing that was a mix of almost all mushrooms with other vegetables-no bread at all. Frankly it was terrible. Cool and crispy broccoli covered with balsamic vinegar was just odd and poorly designed. Well there was ham; for the price we expected more than pressed meat. Unfortunately it was Salvation Army quality ham loaf at best. Desserts were grocery store quality as well. Death by chocolate was only due to the awful pudding it actually was. The pecan pie was redeeming but by that point we got up and left after being so disappointed. Over $200 wasted on due to lack of quality and cooking.

My wife and I stayed at Sorrel in early November. Overall, we were very disappointed. The Sorrel website says it is a "luxury Moab resort", and although the views are amazing, it's way overpriced for the product. The good: we went on an ATV Onion Creek tour from the resort, and the tour and our Sorrel guide were great. The staff tries hard but most are new and not fully trained. We had a good dinner one night (only one other table occupied that night). But we had a not so good dinner the next night and there was only one waiter for an 80% full restaurant. Felt bad for the waiter who tried really hard. Our bedsheets had a rip and should never have been put on the bed. Many of the walkway lights are out so it's very dark. No flashlight in the room. Breakfast was a joke - not served in the main lodge but at a touristy out-building near the main road. Everything for breakfast is pre-made so nothing is made "to order". The actual breakfast is nothing like the menu we had been emailed 5 weeks before our stay. The "daily resort fee" was $157 a night - for what? (pool etc closed). A non-negotiated 20% tip was added to our two dinners (including our bottle of wine). All that seems aggressive especially in conjunction with the $157/night resort fee. Sorrel has internet, but I could not connect to our home cameras - which always works with a cell signal. Seems like Sorrel is throttling data (with a $157/night resort fee??). Bottom line: Sorrel's cost is far from worth it (over $1,000/night + resort fee + 20% tip). Honestly feels like a rip off. There are lots of hotel options in the town of Moab at a variety of price points - all much closer to the national parks. Why not stay in town for less $ and walk to a variety of restaurants?

The best things about Sorel are the location, view, and the excellent restaurant. We visited in November and it was dreamy - only the two of us plus a few more people here and there at the breakfast place. Super quiet, gorgeous crisp weather - and we basically had a private chef! Gary, Andrei, and Portia made our evenings really special. The menu could have been cut way down with so few guests to accommodate, but we enjoyed everything we tried. Since we were the only guests on our last night, Gary made us a personal tasting meal that was incredible. Risotto on the fly - the man can cook! We had beetroot hummus with crispy garlic and chickpeas; risotto with blueberries, pistachios, topped with duck confit; and stracciatella topped with paper-thin sliced pears, mint, prosciutto and lemon oil. On other nights he made a truffle Mac and cheese that I’m still craving, and a special cheesecake for my husband’s birthday. Gary’s food was absolutely complemented by the nice service by Andrei - a true professional straight out of the Yellowstone Club. We were very well taken care of. I was also impressed by the prompt and friendly communication I had with June during my booking process. I had to make some changes and she made it super easy. The room was just ok, nothing to get excited about. But the views are amazing and we prefer spending time out in the valley rather than in Moab. So many great hikes and canyon adventures in the area. There aren’t many options, other than camping, to stay right on the river out there, so it’s worth the price for sure.

A major disappointment. For what we paid and what we received we feel taken advantage of. Sorrel is listed a a luxury resort and is not: the grounds, rooms, lack of staff and lack of quality in the restaurant was anything but luxurious. The property, service and restaurant is in need of a serious facelift and lots of attention to detail. Our room had an air filter in the floor vent which was black and dated 2023. (we stayed October 2024) In the corners up and down where the walls met there were nests of some type of gnats. ugh. Also, for being a remote luxury property we looked forward to spending the evening enjoying dinner and cocktails in their restaurant. The food was one of the worst meals we've ever had, subsequently we ate all our remaining meals off site. Since Sorrel is so remote and takes 25 -30 minutes to get to from the main road we had to change any dinner plans to assure we arrive back at Sorrel before sunset. On check out, the management agreed they are experiencing many changes and offered a resolve which we misunderstood. We thought they took off one nights stay off our bill, which at the time felt like they were making an effort to fairly resolve. They did not, they took off one night resort fee. I do not recommend staying at Sorrel. While walking around downtown Moab we found a brand new hotel HooDoo Moab. Brand new, clean, lots of happy staff, great location, pool all at a quarter of the price.

This place far exceeded our expectations! So much so that I feel like the business person and me wants to help the owners really get this place promoted and have a two-year waitlist but then I plan on coming back so maybe I don’t want to do that? Anyway, I will admit I was a little bit skeptical and nervous that I was paying this much per night until we got here and then I understood what all the fuss was about. It’s hard to put into words, but there’s no way you could have this kind of experience staying in town or really anywhere else. The staff really took care of every detail and catered to whatever we wanted. Everything was clean and well cared for and it’s like they thought of everything. We were blown away!

Such a fun 4 day get away with family and friends for a wedding. A beautiful resort about 30 min away from town, close to hiking trails. I loved being away from the hustle and bustle of Moab it has become so busy lately. You are close enough to drive into town but far enough away that once you are on the ranch you feel like you are away from everything. We stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin right on the river, the room was nice and clean. I thought the beds were comfortable. My 4 year old son loved being able to see the horses, chickens, goat and pony right on the ranch. We would walk to them each morning to say hello. Breakfast was delicious, Suzette our server was attentive and helpful. We also walked out to the JJ Mercantile store one morning and did breakfast there, its a nice quick way to grab a bite. Orlando the food and beverage manager was also very attentive and nice at dinner. They have a nice gym that has everything you would need for a great workout and big windows for a nice view. At night there are firepits right outside the cabins on the river where you can roast marsh mellows, we had an amazing weekend and would stay again.
