After checking their website and looking at the photos, I decided to book for 2 nights. The site showed some lovely architecture from a bygone era, with cosy facilities. I booked the stables out the back as the 6 rooms in the main house showed being fully booked. My cottage was well appointed and clean. Unfortunately the only thing heritage about it was the facade and curtains. On my second day I decided to go up and have a look at the main house, only to discover that the access gates were all locked. I rang to find out how to access the house, to be told that the owners had moved into the house and it was closed to the public. This meant that I had paid $325 per night to stay in an oversized motel room, out the back, with no access to any of the facilities advertised on their web site. I don't know what it's called now, but it used to be false advertising. To say that I felt totally ripped off would be an understatement. They need to update their web site and drop the rates drastically. If I had been advised that the house was closed to the public when I booked, I never would have made the booking.
