Tully Motel
4.2/515 Reviews
Our stay at the Tully Motel was delightful. Tully is a small town, and this motel is perfect for an overnight or extended stay. The rooms are basic but have all the necessities, are comfortable, and are reasonably priced. Located away from the highway, it's wonderfully quiet. We were delighted with our clean room and the amazingly comfortable bed—the best night of sleep we've had in months. The bathroom was immaculate, with excellent water pressure. Pat, the owner, takes hospitality seriously, and the staff was gracious, friendly, and accommodating. They really went the extra mile to help us out of a jam and ensure we were comfortably set up. Though the restaurant was closed during our weekend stay, we've heard great things about it. Highly recommend this motel if you're in the area!
Mission Beach Resort

2nd time we have stayed here in 2 years and will definitely be back! The rooms are spotless, the beds are bloody super comfortable and the whole resort is brilliant. 3 pools, although we didn't venture further than the one right outside our room (we stayed in a 2 bedroom spa room) The location is good. Short stroll to the beach, there is a BWS basically on site and a fantastic coffee shop next to that in the little (albeit sadly rundown) shopping 'village' The Coffee Shop is called the Shack, highly recommend. The sports bar and tavern on site is fantastic and staff are super friendly. Woolworths is just around the corner (closed Sundays FYI) Mission Beach itself is only a short drive away, about 5 minutes and has a bunch of other restaurants and cafes to enjoy, including the Garage Brewery, my favourite spot in mission beach. I think the resort have a courtesy shuttle that'll take you / pick you up from Mission Beach itself, but we haven't used it so not sure on the rules around it. We'll be back. We love it here!
Big4 Tasman Holiday Parks - South Mission Beach
4.4/529 Reviews
The park is overpriced at $67 a night when competitors in the same area are $10 cheaper per night. In the two weeks we were there, the park went through extensive construction work with concreting, campsite repair and footpath/road repair. This all brought obvious disruption and noise to the guests. The restaurant/cafe was very expensive and sold what we considered subclass meals. Many of the sites needed sand fill-in and were literally bog holes. I understand park maintenance is required but when the park is in a condition like this, guest should be pre-warned and/or the site fees should be lowered accordingly. We have stayed here before several times, but this time was very disappointing. The pool is good, location is good and the staff were very good, in particular Alvera.
Cardwell at the Beach

I chose this motel for a night stop over as the photos showed the establishment to be in better condition than some others online. The exterior of the motel looks tidy but this was where it ended. If I could give 0 stars I honestly would. The interior was likely renovated quite some time ago and is due for another. Walls were extremely mouldy and this is from someone who grew up in a very wet place. Shower curtain was mouldy and the bottom too long and likely never dried. Bathroom window flyscreen was caked with dirt. The nice green wall in the photo did not look like this. It had worn patches and patches that also appeared mouldy. We attempted to sit on the stools at the table to eat some dinner but there was no padding on the chairs so your bum sagged below your thighs and was extremely uncomfortable. See photo of an empty kettle sitting on the chair for reference. The bedding consisted of one fitted sheet and a flat sheet. There was a blanket in the cupboard, but after seeing the cleanliness of the room, we chose not to use it. The motel did not appear to be fully booked, however they chose to locate patrons all together. The walls are thin, likely not core filled, and the people next door dragged their bar stools around until late into the night and made who knows how many trips to their car before leaving on sunrise in the morning. Very inconsiderate people, which I understand management cannot control, however I don’t understand locating patrons next door to each other when there are ample rooms vacant. There was nice hot water and the shower had good pressure. The location seemed quite safe. I’d recommend viewing my photos and making your own decision on the current state of the property from recent photos before booking.
Castaways Resort & Spa on Mission Beach

It is a little weird hotel. The rooms are simple and a bit outdated, motel type, but nevertheless the restaurant area, the pool (which allows to make long) and the garden are very careful and are very nice. It has direct access to the beach of Mission Beach which is very beautiful and is 5-10 min walk from the area where shops and restaurants are grouped. Breakfast a bit lazy, charging an extra for an express.
