Hotel is not like the photos on *********** .It's very rundown .The area near pool toilets and stairs is filthy and smells. There are piles of broken furniture and rubbish bins in view from the pool and restaurant. Breakfast was cold and terrible choice. As the pancakes were just about ok we asked on second day for them They said no pancakes today and refused to make some for us.Wwe booked 10 nights for a rest at the beach. We left after 2 nights. It was disgusting. I would not recommend this hotel.

Booked for two nights. I arrived at 9 am and was able to get in my room early , checked in by a professional friendly young guy ( I didn't get his name) with a cold refreshing fruit drink. The room was very disappointing on the ground floor, very dark and you had to shut your curtains for privacy. The room was very basic, old electrical sockets, tatty falling apart furniture, bathroom had a lot of maintenance issues, toilet seat loose, things hanging off their brackets. Drawers and wardrobe broken. The window from the bathroom looked out to a dirty inner enclosure with a roof that constantly had water pouring off it and was noisy all the time. ( another reviewer mentioned this) The room was so dismal I spent as little time in it as possible. Both nights the shower was cold. They never cleaned my room the second day. The young male staff spent all their time sat by the dining area not the reception, which also made it difficult to identify staff. They could have used their time for repairs and cleaning. The pool area was a bonus but it really did not look inviting, and why use the pool when you have one of the most beautiful beaches in the world a minutes walk away? The breakfast was served at 8 am which is quite late and was very poor in comparison to all my other accommodation in Sri Lanka. With hardly any choice for vegetarians, it consisted of cold toast, egg, sausages, fruit, pancakes and some cake. No local dishes or drinks provided. I missed the second day as I had to leave early. I returned for the evening just after 10 pm to find the gate locked to the property. No answer from the bell, I also called the hotel contact numbers , no reply. With a lot of shouting, one of the other guests let me in. A very poor experience especially for a single female. I believe all the staff went out for a drinking session! The hotel says luxury budget hotel. It is anything but luxury, it was the worst hotel I stayed in on my tour of Sri Lanka. It has potential but the Management do not have hospitality skills and it lacks maintenance. The only positive is it's location to the beach and facilities. There are much nicer places to stay in Mirissa, I wish I had chosen something better.

The people that own this hotel have 2 dogs locked in a cage next to their kitchen/pool area in terrible condition. I called the local animal rescue and offered to pay for the dogs to be treated - not taken, just to have their health checked and get some treatment for their skin. The owners would not allow them on the property or to help in any way with the dogs. They were locked in the cage in the sun all day ripping their hair out and biting at the cage to escape. It is full of filth and absolutely appalling. I understand they may not have the funds but to reject my assistance in trying to help these poor dogs and cover the cost myself for no reason is just not ok. Please do not support these people.

We visited 5 years ago and decided to return because breakfast and location was so good. Obviously location is still great but breakfast was very disappointing. Now it is a buffet and staff are not very attentive. The new pool looked great but chairs around were dirty and unappealing. Toilet seat just didn’t fit the toilet.

This is not luxury or boutique. If the manager managed it could be much better. Close to beach and shops. When it rains, the tiles of the stairs to the higher rooms are really slippy and there is no cover on the landing from the rain. It runs under the doors. Lower rooms are very dark and the walls are very dirty. There are some lovely staff who wait for direction from the manager who just seems to charge about on his phone avoiding dealing with anything. He has 2 very large Akita style dogs locked in a kennel by the kitchens all day. Then they are left to run out all over the sun beds which are never cleaned and use the garden poll area as their toilet. The gardens have an oven and other large rubbish dumped. We would have left, sadly due to the holidays, the constant rain and lack of other available properties, we were stuck.

Travelled with family. Found the staff helpful and courteous. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. We however couldn't find suitable veg food for breakfast. But overall it was a pleasant stay for me and my family.

We booked this through Booking. Com when we were actually there. The reason was that the original hotel was absolutely disgusting and I couldn't wait to leave! The staff at Wavelength were so understanding and made us feel extremely welcome. We were given a downstairs room as I couldn't manage the stairs, and it was perfect! Clean bedding, great AC and fan and just by the pool. This hotel is a little gem, within easy reach of the beach and restaurants. The staff here are so accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. The pool is clean, and towels are provided. Thank you all for understanding our situation and making what could have been an absolute disaster into a most welcome stay. Breakfast was the basic eggs, fruit, toast and jam, but all served with a smile. Thank you guys for getting us out of what could have been a distasterous trip. We booked for a whale watching trip online with Raja and the Whales.com, excellent!

I cannot recommend this place more. Walking distance from everything in Mirissa and it also has a pool. The room is very clean and has its own balcony. Pretty spacious also. The food served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is amazing and very fresh. The team operating became family and they made our stay super lovely. The prices are very affordable and of value. Highly recommended. More reviews @myra.recommends
