This motel is in a beautiful setting with tall trees. We stayed in an old-fashioned cabin that felt cluttered. With all the lights on, it was decently lit. The base of the bed stuck out beyond the mattress, and I whacked my shin against it and got a nasty bruise. The room had an old microwave, a large mini-fridge with freezer, and comfortable chairs and bed. There was a wardrobe and some drawers for storage. The sink had no counter space, but there was space behind the sink area. The shower head was decent. There were not many TV station options. We got breakfast items at the gas station store across the street. We had a good dinner for a reasonable price at the Avenue Cafe.

Beds supper comfortable. Hugh tub in cabin 8. My kids loved the home like feel of it. Expensive compared to camping but worth it if you got a bad back. Best resort i saw in Avenue of the Giants. Pool and fireplace available. Totally recommend this place. Staff was friendly. It was nice to cook in a real kitchen as there are like 3 restaurants still open in the Avenue area. Has a great hair salon and grocery store across the street with reasonable gas prices too. Loved the back patio with table and chairs we used to play card games. Good wifi connection as well.

Love staying right on Avenue of the Giants, and our room had a view and porch overlooking the forest itself. Other cabins without a forest view are also reasonably secluded. The small resort features a pool which we didn't use, but a basketball court and pingpong table which we did. Our cabin had gorgeous old-timey built-ins, plus attractive bowls, plates, and tablewear. Comfortable bed with firm mattress. No AC but a ceiling fan we found helpful on the unusually warm night we stayed. Personally, we could have done without some of the modern touches like a TV, or a showerhead with a little light. But maybe that's just us. Overall a highly enjoyable stay, and we will definitely be back.

This charming cottage style resort smack in the middle of the awesome giant redwoods on the Avenue of the Giants works at providing the most quality small town environment possible! They have very clean cabins with kitchens, cozy sitting areas, large fluffy towels, and the most comfortable feather pillows I've slept with! The pool area is cute with fire pits, play ground area for kids, a basketball court, a ping pong table and a nicely done green area throughout the large redwoods on the property. Staff is friendly and makes you feel comfortable. There is a well equipped market across the street. There is also a wonderful pizza restaurant directly across the street! About six miles south you'll find a great hamburger place at the chimney tree place. This poor 1800 year old tree had a fire and still lives to this day, with the center 14 feet across making a room where you can walk right inside! It's free! I highly recommend staying here and would love to return one day!

Booked this place well in advance. Soon after, I get an email saying they are raising rates, and this will increase my cost. I looked around and decided to book another place. When I called to cancel this reservation I was informed there was $50 cancellation fee even though it was 2 months out.

In November 2023 I made a reservation for a 3 night stay in May 2024. In February 2024 I received an email stating that due to a substantial rise in operational expenses, the total cost for my stay would increase by over $25 per night, and the $15 cancellation fee would increase to $50. I spoke to G who was very nice, but was unable to help with the rate increase. I wasn’t happy and felt this was bad business, but we’ve been wanting to visit Avenue of the Giants so we went. The property is quaint and rustic, and the location on the Avenue is ideal. There are restaurants and a gas station across the street. The woman at the front desk was very helpful. However, the continental breakfast was discontinued and although the pool is supposed to be open May to October, during the 3rd week in May it wasn’t open yet. All in all it’s still the least expensive place to stay on the Avenue, and we enjoyed our time among the redwoods. But I can’t recommend it to a friend or family because they didn’t honor the reserved price.

We made reservations in November of 2023 for May of 2024. In February 2024 we received an email saying the rate was being increased by $30 a night. If our nephew was not being married at the resort we would have cancelled the reservation, it seemed a bit like bait and switch. I spoke to the front desk about the price increase being waived since we had a confirmation for the lower price months prior. They said there was nothing they could do. Apparently there are new owners and this is the way they run their business. The staff, most of which were hired by the previous owner and I believe reflect their ethics, were great. We stayed in cabin 4, it was spacious, full kitchen, ceiling fans were sufficient in 90 degree heat. I would give the staff and location 5 stars, the current owners get 1 star. Because the owners are ok with increasing the pricing whenever it suits them I would not stay here again.

This was our second time staying at Miranda Gardens on Avenue of the Giants. It retains a lot of it's historical charm and you can't beat the location. We have reserved cabin 10 twice now which is a one bedroom one bath cabin with kitchen. It's a bit quirky with the TV in the bedroom but since they have good streaming now and not just the lousy basic cable channels it's OK. It's handy to have the gas station and market right across the street. Our only real beef was the change in price from our reservation to what we actually paid. We were there for the May marathon and we made our reservation way in advance (you have to, it fills up real fast). A couple months before the marathon we get a notice that the cost for our reservation would be more than $100 per night more than when we reserved. There's two marathons on Avenue of the Giants, one in the spring and one in the fall and the dates are set about a year in advance so it's not like they don't know when things are happening. Can't they adjust their pricing for those weekends in advance also?

Sweet place to stay in the redwoods. We stayed two times on this trip with a fishing trip in-between. We stayed in two different units and both were clean and comfortable. Only negative is that the kitchen supplies are limited. Only 3 plates, 4 forks and spoons, and no basic seasoning or spices (salt &pepper only). Will come prepared next time.
