Muikamachi Hutte

I didn't expect to be able to live in such a good Japanese-style hot spring hotel in a place like Rokkamachi, which is totally value for money. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from Rokkamachi Station. Every part of the hotel is extremely tidy, as is the public health area. I can’t find any flaws in a typical cleanliness like me. The hotel also has its own private soup, indoor and outdoor pools, although not big, but the atmosphere is excellent. As long as you make an appointment in advance, you can enjoy the private hot spring beautifully. The surroundings of the hotel are super quiet. Walking along the hillside behind the hotel, you can see many beautiful villas along the way. There should be many Japanese-style hot spring hotels. Finally, I have to say that the owner of the hotel is really great. Not only did he recommend us delicious Japanese restaurants nearby, he also provided free pick-up service and sent us to JR station early the next morning. It was really great. Intimate! Next time you have a chance to come to Rokkamachi again, you must stay here again!

1. The buffet restaurant was well equipped with corona measures, and I was able to enjoy a delicious meal while looking at Hakkaisan with peace of mind. Crab, many kinds of sashimi on a boat (maybe because the sea bream sashimi was delicious because it's close to the Sea of Japan), sushi, tempura, roast beef, beef stew, and more, all of which were delicious! According to the menu, we first tasted draft beer, then local sake Hakkaisan and Kakurei chilled, but the sake was served in a nice glass decanter (?) Breakfast was quite good for this price, and the Uonuma Koshihikori rice was delicious. 3. The hot spring was a clear and refreshing bath, but there was a shallow water about 3m x 4m in front of the bathtub, which was good for small children.Elephant watering cans and baby chairs were also prepared. 3. The next day, my family was chapo chapo in the pool, but it's wonderful that you can enjoy the pool, hot springs, and two delicious meals at this price. 4. However, the only negative point was that the air conditioner was in the back of the Japanese-Western style room, so the cold air did not reach the entire room (because it was quite large), and it was hot even at the strongest. 5. By car, it's a convenient location, just 4 or 5 minutes from the Muikamachi Interchange... However, apart from skiing, Muikamachi doesn't feel like a tourist spot at all, but you can enjoy the hotel itself slowly and leisurely, so this is it. It was a wonderful summer night.

I was recommended at Uonuma no Sato at Hakkaiyama Brewery and went to a day trip hot spring. The reception of the day trip hot spring was put in by 15:00. It was a good time, so I went to the mixed bathing open-air bath. The dressing room and washing place are separate 々 mixed baths, and the rock baths of the indoor baths that flow directly from the source are small 々 hot and comfortable hot water, and about 80% are partitioned by bamboo walls. The large open-air bath that can be taken out of the mixed bath is very large and there is no roof, and it felt a little lukewarm if it was not near the hot water mouth, probably because of the folding snow. The small open-air bath, which was separated from the large open-air bath, was just the right temperature of the hot springs, making use of the hot springs. I was satisfied with the atmosphere of a hot spring inn in the lobby.

I participated in the fireworks tour for the first time in four years. When I came back to the inn, I had rice balls ready, and I didn't know last time, so I ate a lot of fireworks, so I left the rice balls empty this year. The two-stage big lunch box was delicious. The staff are very warm and cozy inn. There was a big yasude and cockroach in the room and I fought a little from the morning (laughs) After returning from the fireworks, I used the large communal bath. The open-air bath was pitch black (Is it not available in the middle of the night?) I was disappointed. The breakfast and all the dishes were delicious. thank you for your help during the fireworks season. thank you very much.

It was used during the 2022 Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale. The main building, where the lobby is located, is an old private house built in the Meiji period and has been designated as a registered tangible cultural property. This modern Japanese-style hotel has been recognized as a three-star hotel in the Michelin Guide Niigata 2020. The calculated space design has a sense of overkill, but it is calming. I stayed in Classic C-type Room 305 (Komatsu), a twin bed placed on a 10 tatami mat, a space next to 4.5 tatami mats and 3 tatami mats, and a reading space facing the front. It was a bit too large for a couple, but the 3 tatami mats were occupied by chairs and were a little inconvenient. Dinner is a full-course meal called ”Snow Country Gastronomy” based on ingredients and traditional dishes that have been eaten in the snow country for generations. Although the taste was above the level, there was no dish that left an impression with the orthodox menu structure. Although it is a different world once you pass through the gate, it is close to the city area and is along National Route 291, which runs parallel to the Uonuma River, so the location is not very environmentally friendly. It's not bad if you decide to stay home.
