everything was fine with the accommodation, getting out of the island was a bit difficult

Sea, pools and facility are perfect. Rooms are new and clean, kids love the place. Staff are friendly. We don't have any negative comment for the hotel, just food quality in open buffet could be better. We will visit the hotel again in this summer.

Lovely looking hotel and lovely location BUT.... - Food choice is appalling -The snack bar does egg sandwiches and cold cuts only - kids food in kids corner is generally just pizza - The buffet is the worst iv ever seen - No water in rooms, you need to try and persuade a waiter to give you some ot buy from the shop for 2 euros each - if you wanted sprite, or cans of drink it's chargeable - the animation team definitely try but it's just cringeworthy - the waiters and waitresses don't even acknowledge your existence - beach towels are chargeable - no iron available unless you want to pay for laundry services Should NOT be advertised as an all inclusive as it's really not.

We stayed at Gava Waterman Milna Resort for 7 days. I’ll start with the good points: - the room was lovely and spacious, bed was comfortable, daily housekeeping, good working aircon. - the entertainment team! Especially Magix, Hugo and Dino. They really made an effort all day everyday to keep everybody entertained, involved and having fun. - the waiters in the restaurant, very quick to clear plates and tables, very helpful. - the views are absolutely beautiful - the pool barman and the pool ice cream worker were really friendly and quick at serving - although we arrived after dinner, they had made all guests a dinner for our arrival - clean pools, good use of inflatables and kayaks in the sea, no need to book. - really friendly guy working the shop, always happy to help. Some really lovely handmade products in there, especially the eucalyptus and lemon body butter. - we had a rainy day but the animation team kept everybody entertained with board games and activities - can get basketballs, vollyballs, footballs and tennis rackets from reception and use the court - giant chess, darts and table tennis in resort too - although not much around, there’s enough to keep you entertained and having fun in the resort Now the not so good points: - an awfully long transfer. We landed in Split around 16:15 and after a coach, a ferry and another coach we arrived at the resort just after 21:30, not ideal with two children. Too late to use any facilities, and then our last day was also spent travelling again, maybe book an extra day to facilitate travelling. - although the food was nice, it was very repetitive and got boring after a week, the same rice, potatoes, salad and different meals to do with chicken, pork or beef. - often a very strange sewage smell every now and then - no facilities in room to make a tea or coffee - junior suite, that was no different to a normal hotel room, just a sofa that was turned in to a bed for the children - sort of in the middle of nowhere, although there are shuttle buses, if you want to go exploring, you’re out all day and again spending a lot of time travelling Overall we did have a really lovely time and would recommend it to anybody looking for a relaxing trip away by the pool and sea :)

We have just had a lovely stay at this resort, despite the very long journey. We arrived late in the day. We were tired and hungry, so were pleased to be told to go to the restaurant. A cold chicken pasta salad had been made for us all. Very tasty and just what we needed. We were then shown to our junior suite, by very helpful and friendly staff. The websites are not very clear, so a bit disappointed that there was only one room to sleep in. It was spotless though, so we made do. We woke in the morning to the most stunning views. The kids loved the inflatable in the sea and the free use of kayaks and paddle boards. Variety of pools and plenty of sun beds. There were 10 of us and we all got beds together. Snack bar and ice creams were great for the kids. Entertainment staff were great fun and loved by us all. Big thank you to Deano and Hugo for teaching Ewan the tactics of chess. We also played tennis, table tennis, outdoor chess, so no boredom on the one rainy day. Found a pretty good running route, if you need a bit of exercise before you relax!! Shuttle bus was great and even picked us up at a later time when we went to Hvar. The food was plentiful and tasty, but often quite the same each day. The biggest thing we would like to say is thank you to all of the staff for making our stay special.

GOOD POINTS..... ROOM...Very nice forest cottage, massive bed, storage, free safe, TV in bedroom and lounge, separate air con in bedroom and lounge, good size bathroom with walk in shower, nice balcony. Cleaned regularly. AREA.... Beautifully situated, Very pretty surroundings, plenty of sun loungers in all areas and by all pools. Shuttle to and from Milna 4 or 5 times a day 2 euros per person return, last one back early evening though so if you want to eat out you have to get a taxi which costs 12 euros for a 5 min journey (unless you're able to walk, but it's all uphill. Quite a nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Very good entertainment on Thursday evenings, girl singer with good voice, easy listening. Good facilities such as indoor pool, sauna, gym area, crazy golf, and various activities with the animation team. Car and Bike Hire. Hire a buggy, it's great fun. All good so far, but now the BAD POINTS.... Pot luck with the food temperature, some days better than others, but mostly only luke warm, not good. Not a wide choice of dishes, repetitive with staple items often missing, eg Bacon at breakfast and Potatoes in the evening. Juices seem to be watered down, can't get a decent tasting tea or coffee, cocktails are a waste of time. No comfortable indoor bar/lounge area, the only seating is outside and in no way comfy at a little 'makeshift' type bar. TO SUM UP... This really could be a sensational place to stay, and we did enjoy it because there is a lot to like, BUT, as an AI the quality of food and drink is very important and here it is sadly lacking, which is a great shame. To finish off I'd like to say thank you to Adriana, and Darko, 😗always willing to go the extra mile, and work really hard on the restaurant side of things, which can't be easy.

I recently stayed at Gava Milna for a week, all inclusive, and had a fabulous time! The resort is absolutely beautiful, and the staff were friendly, and attentive. I wish there had have been more drinks choice, but other than this I can’t fault my stay. A gorgeous place to holiday!

First of all I should start this review by stating that we have never done all inclusive before - and don’t wish to do so again - but this should not reflect on the overall experience at this all inclusive resort just because we prefer a different holiday type. Although we’d thoroughly done our research, and the journey and transfer couldn’t have run smoother (well done Jet2), the 12 hour door to door travelling time would put us off doing another island with ferry crossing. We arrived only a few days after the opening of the The Gava Waterman Milna resort for the new season and found everything clean, tidy and as described on the website. As others have stated we were left 'floundering' a bit as to where our room was after our long tiring journey as you’re just given your key without even the vaguest of directions to your room. We weren’t entirely sure what our deluxe double room would be like, or where it would be situated on the complex, but found it to be what I can only describe as a chalet/portacabin (think posh Butlins!). It was perfectly adequate and had a super large comfy bed and pillows and a nice large modern shower room. We do prefer a high floor room so being on the ground floor with no views was a bit disappointing as we thought we might be in the larger building that has higher floors. It is situated in the most scenic of bays, but even that can be frustrating as we thought we’d be able to access more coastal walks than we actually could, as we kept coming across dead ends and private notices along tracks we thought we’d be able to access looking at Google maps, so we sort of ran out of places to walk to with staying for two weeks. Please note there is no actual beach access at all… just rocks. The walk to Milna is easily doable though for anyone with average fitness (we are 67 &71 and managed it okay). The first few days we were disappointed with the food choice, but I must admit it did improve a bit as the days went by - maybe full supplies hadn’t been delivered and the chefs still finding their feet a bit! We didn’t care for the alcoholic drinks either, so I only had three beers in two weeks, and as we didn’t partake of the lunch a few hours after breakfast the all inclusive aspect was entirely wasted on us - good job the ice cream was lush! You may well wonder why we booked all inclusive if it’s not 'our thing' but it was actually cheaper than our last two weeks half board in Majorca so we thought we’d give it a whirl. The staff were all very efficient from our lovely maid who hung around waiting to clean our room from 7.30am every morning to our ‘happy girl' Adrijana in the restaurant who was absolutely charming. The two main pools were lovely, especially when the heated outdoor pool had got up to temperature over a few days - it was like swimming in a lukewarm bath. There were lots of different areas to sunbathe and plenty of loungers so no trouble with the sun bed baggers! My overall summary is if you’re happy sta
