Relaxing and magical. Dropped our worries at the door and chillaxed on the 2-night stay. Staff very attentive, especially Claudine who went above and beyond to sort out our bookings when we checked in and out. Have re-booked our next trip thank you Champneys.

A huge shout out to ALL the fabulous fitness team! Everyone is so absolutely amazing and helpful. Stuart my PT who is putting me through my paces, Wendy the best hula hoop and line dancing teacher ever, Jodie the ace stretch lady, Jack with his incredible Pulse Roll class (which totally improved my downward dog in the yoga class that followed!) The super apprentice who I’ve nicknamed “the best arm exercise guy”. The lovely receptionist on the fitness desk helping me book on classes when my app doesn’t work. Then there’s the fabulous team on main reception who are always so friendly and cheerful - Claudine who let me know about the 30% - forever friends LOL! The wonderful team in the shop - so many great offers on the many wondrous things. The superb team in the orangery for the banter as well as the best lattes in town. And upstairs where you can book a selection of treatments, all the staff are so helpful. Huge thank you to Frank who gives the best massage and also an insightful reflexology treatment. Totally love this resort and highly recommend ❤️

We booked in for a 1 night spa treat as we both have pretty busy lives running a business from home and looking after two young children and time away is really very rare. It's so important to get things right for guests on a one night stay as you have little or no opportunity to correct things in such a short time, if it had been a single problem we probably would have mentioned it but there were so many things that we weren't happy with, some of which couldn't be fixed. 1. The outdoor pool was closed! My wife is an avid cold water all year round swimmer so the pool was a priority. We wandered around and found the pool area, it looked like it had been abandoned years ago. There was nothing on-line stating it was closed. 2. You can't swim in the lake. Seems obvious that if you have such a beautiful body of water right there that you wouldn't offer that for swimming, especially with the huge popularity of cold water swimming. 3. There are no site facility maps up on the walls? There are QR codes that open up but what is wrong with having actual maps up? I felt that we weren't alone in wandering around trying to find things. 4. The general decor is not 5* standard, fixtures and fittings are tired and stained. 5. Our room had stains on the ceiling and was generally pretty tired looking chipped furniture, a desk draw that wouldn't stay closed without the chair pushed up against it. 6. Shower curtain kept on coming off. 7. Toilet flush kept on sticking which meant the cistern was constantly filling. 8. Hot tap on the basin was missing a cap. 9. The basin plug was missing the closing mechanism. 10. The room main door kept on catching when you tried to open it. 11. TV aerial lead was dangling underneath. 12. Mirror in the bedroom wasn't level (I tried to level it but it was fixed on two points). 13. TV kept on freezing and switching itself off. 14. Bed was way too firm (This is personal pref obviously, but didn't help considering everything else). 15. Indoor pool was way too hot (once again, personal pref here). 16. Outdoor jacuzzi area really small for the size of the resort, decking boards already curling on the edges (trip hazzard?) due to all the water. Looks like you've opted for a material that doesn't like getting wet? 17. Very small shared saunas and cold rooms, if the hotel had have been at capacity it would have been even worse. 18. Chairs around the indoor pool area make for an awkward walk around, once again, if the hotel was busy this would be terrible. 19. Toilet paper took me right back to my school days in the 1970s, really poor quality. 20. Evening meal was pretty basic and small, I opted for the vegan burger, pretty horrible, sweet potato 'fries' were over-cooked, yes, all four of them. Slaw was bone dry. My wife's meal was also mediocre. 21. Breakfast, think this has been echoed in other reviews, you pay a lot of money to stay yet anything cooked is extra! Absolutely unacceptable at this price point. 22. Th

I have never been so upset by a service. I have lost such a sentimental piece of jewellery, albeit I left it in a dressing gown. However you would think they have a process in place to help prevent this. What makes it worst I have been trying since Friday when I left to get hold of someone. They do not answer the phone or emails. So I am now having to go back. I am devastated by the circumstance and Champneys are making it worst.

As a club member, Forest Mere has many benefits for the local population. There’s a full range of classes which mean you can ensure you are able to maximise your health and fitness. A special call out for Evelyn, the fitness manager, who’s classes are consistently excellent, whether you’re targeting cardio in cycling classes, or building up core strength in Pilates - they are definitely to be recommended.

After visiting for over 10 years, I'm really disappointed by how much the resort has faded. Thalassotherapy out of action, Ice room not working, sound scape in relaxation room not working. Outside Spa area (which is the new bit) has broken tiles, part of the spa jets weren't working. It just can't be described as a 5* experience any more. Some staff were lovely and attentive, others are definitely in need of customer service training. Overall disappointing - and no where near as glossy and wonderful as it used to be or as the website suggests.

I have been for many years in the past and was excited to come back. After booking a superior room for 2 nights and requesting a lake view I was given a court yard room. After asking if they could change my room I was told that they couldn't change any more rooms as house keeping can't keep up. In the end after being so disappointed I could only upgrade to a Luxe room for an extra £25 per night to which I did. I used to love the thalassotherapy pool but that is no longer there which is a real shame, apparently it broke down and it was too expensive to repair. The spa area is now far too busy and doesn't feel tranquil at all, can't get a bed to lie on so had to sit on an uncomfortable deck chair. The room with the egg chairs in was really cold so couldn't stay long. Food was nice but was left waiting for my main for over an hour, when I asked if they had forgot me they came back with "your order jitty had fallen on the floor" There is no bread roll with your dinner or coffee after dinner any more. The one I was really shocked about was when I asked if I could have a bucket of ice I was told that there would be a £3 charge, I gasped and said what for Ice and was told that they don't make the rules which I found really rude. Service has really gone down hill. If they don't sort it they are going to lose a lot of repeat customers. Think carefully before you spend a fortune.

What could have been a disasterous trip was made much better by Emily H in reception on the arrivals and departures desk. I had so many issues with Champneys, but she sorted them all out and made our trip in the spa much better and a nicer experience than I was expecting
