We stayed at this inn for three days over Labor Day Weekend to attend a family funeral. It was an unexpected death, and we had to find something nearby, so we booked it, but it cost $4700 for two rooms. When we got to the hotel on Friday we told the staff attendant at the desk that we would be staying until Monday, as planned, but our daughter and son-in-law would need to leave on Sunday (a day early). We asked to have the fee for their room on Sunday night deducted from our bill. The night attendant was pleasant and said she thought it would be no problem, but we should check with the manager tomorrow. We asked for the manager several times over the next few days, and explained why we needed to talk with her, but the staff kept telling us to check back later. As our stay progressed, we were completely stunned by the rudeness of the staff. They serve a breakfast buffet from 8:00-10:00 AM each day, but it is not ready by 8:00 and then they run out of food. They offered trays of scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes (same menu) each day but repeatedly ran out of eggs. One morning we overheard a guest politely asking the staff if they could bring out some more eggs after they had been waiting for about 45 minutes. The waitress responded, "The eggs will be coming out again soon. And I don't want to hear you say that Christmas is coming soon, too!" The eggs did not appear until the breakfast was nearly over. They did offer delicious jars of homemade yogurt with granola and fruit. However, they ran out of the yogurt one day by 9:00 AM. The coffee was terrible. I asked if it was possible to have a cup of cappuccino, and the waitress responded with a curt, "No!" On Sunday morning when our daughter and son-in-law were checking out, we asked again about deducting the room from our bill since they were leaving a day early. The staff member at the desk said they would not be able to deduct it because it was a holiday weekend, and they could have rented out the room for Sunday night if they had known. This was despite multiple other family members also staying at the inn, and we had reserved and had a huge dinner at the restaurant downstairs (Bar Louis) the night before for our whole extended family of 25. We had all spent a lot of money at the inn that weekend. To top off the experience, when my husband and I returned to the inn on Sunday night after a long day of post-funeral activities, we went to the restaurant for dinner, As we approached the host, he said, "Don't even think about having dinner here tonight. We are closed now." It was 7:55 PM and the restaurant scheduled to close at 8:00. Two of my family members were having dinner on the porch. We went to the front desk and asked if they could make an exception for us, explaining that we had stayed at the inn all weekend and we were there for a funeral. The only other place we could find that was open was the diner down the street. The woman at the desk answered with a blunt "no." There is no hospita

This was the worst experience and it cost $75 without tip. Not sure where to start. None of us finished our meal. My dad's omelette was bland. My mom's salad was awful the lettuce was wilted and had only five green beans on the salad that were hard. My burger did not taste right. Honestly I've had better burgers at Red Robin. WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!! To top things off we drove over an hr for lunch! You got to do better and we want some satisfaction!

Exquisitely appointed and well maintained historic property. My husband and I enjoyed a quiet one night stay in this charming hotel. We chose a room with a balcony overlooking the water fountain below where we enjoyed wine and appetizers (self provided). There aren't a lot of nice places in town to dine, so this was a good way to go. The staff was a mixed bag. The lady who checked us in in the evening was lovely. The lady who was running things in the morning, not so much - unfriendly, looked stressed out while managing the breakfast (for only 3 people in the dining room) and in general, seemed annoyed with the thought of helping us. We asked if we could use the complimentary bikes for a short ride around town when we went to check out early (check out was 11a, we checked out of our room at 10:15a). She made a mild stink about it. We couldn't figure out why, after all, our room was vacated early and we just wanted to borrow two of the 8+ available bikes for 30 mins or so. We would have used the bikes earlier but we were waiting for the rain to stop. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Given the luxury this hotel attempts to imply (and it's price point), the breakfast is basic. The coffee was weak, the reheated quiche looked overly cooked as were the potatoes, the fruit was your basic melon mix. The croissants were a nice touch but there was nothing special about the breakfast. Add some jam, some berries to the fruit...it wouldn't take much. Sadly it was lacking the "excite and delight!"

The hotel is immaculate. Great location clean comfortable It was the breakfast that was extremely disappointing. I have never seen such a bad breakfast in all my travels specially in a hotel of this class. There was hardly any choice. First day there was quiche and bacon for the hot food Was just warm. Bacon looked old and unappetizing. There were croissants had to ask for the jelly It was like it was being rationed Water for tea was cold. Had to ask for hot water Second day it was quiche again. By 9.15 there was only one piece of sausage left. There was no effort to refill the sausage serving tray. Had to again ask for jelly. The girl serving and helping in the dining room was very polite and got us everything we asked for. But I don’t understand why things were not just kept out Had to ask for jelly , tea bags . Very very unsatisfying breakfast I went to the diner next door and ate hot eggs and toast. Sue the night receptionist was extremely kind polite friendly and hospitable

Lovely Inn in the charming town of Milford, PA. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. The Inn is very clean. Walkable to town. The breakfast buffet is nothing to write home about. I wish it was made to order. The woman at check in was delightful. I will stay here again.

We returned to Hotel Fauchère in Milford, Pennsylvania knowing it had changed hands. Owner Sean Strub's dynamic presence is gone, though his spirit still resonates in its intimate halls. An affilliation with Relais and Châteaux is gone as well, and vestiges of this relationship are slipping away, perhaps intentionally--perhaps to save money or to make do with as little as possible. It is as though graciousness is slipping away too. All that remains of R&C is the large fleur de lis on the back of its inconveniently large guest room keys. In spite of the change in ownership, there remained a few glimpses of extraordinary service and graciousness. We saw it in the service provided by Jen and her team at Bar Louis, by a senior housekeeper who came in to work on her day off, and by a maintenance team member who as we were leaving stopped what he was doing to wish us a fond farewell. Otherwise, there were no offers to help with bags, reception staff remained seated at check-in, and the word 'officious' came to mind. If Louis Fauchère was still alive, he would have died again to see the breakfast being served today: there were a few remaining thaw-heat-serve quiche slices withering forlornly in the bottom of a large heated stainless steel chafing dish. Fortunately, the Milford diner is only a few steps away, and BetterWorld just across the street provides wonderful organic coffees and delicious pastries. Our in-room coffee service no longer even provided real half and half, only "Cremora". In our no-longer deluxe room, draperies were unevenly hung, and while the bathroom floor was still heated (a wonderful feature), the heated towel bar was simply disconnected on both ends instead of being removed, as if to say 'you can no longer use this' or 'we have chosen not to fix this'. In our room, we could hear the phone ringing in the office all day and evening, and the odd strange music that played occasionally and loudly was easily heard in our room. We had a respectable dinner the first night that was served beautifully by Jen, the manager, at the Bar. I requested medium rare, only to have medium well arrive. Oh well. Cocktails were delicious. We also came back one evening and tried to enter through the outside bar entrance. It was very dark, and we couldn't even tell if it was still open. The bulb in the overhead fixture at the bottom of the outside steps had burned out, and when we raised the safety issue, we were informed that "a maintenance request had been put in." No one seemed to know if a switch was simply turned off, or what. Definitely a safety concern for other guests who attempt this descent into darkness. Even though we were lodging guests, we were only allowed to sit on the bar side at two different small round tables next to the door as we were not having dinner! There were a number of vacant tables for four guests on the other side, just a few feet away. No cocktail napkins were served with our drinks. The Crème Brulée was excellen

Amazing stay at an amazing historic property. This hotel really makes you feel a deep sense of relaxation. The quaint rooms are just perfect to escape the every day. Breakfast was great and the staff is friendly and accommodating. They are there for whatever you need without being overbearing. We came for a surprise birthday trip planned by my husband, and I feel so lucky this is where he chose. I could not have asked for a more perfect weekend away.

I had a wonderful stay at the Fauchere. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is great - everything you need from a small town boutique hotel. A simple breakfast is served each morning, and there are also great local options - including the Water Wheel cafe

A lovingly restored historic inn. The early 19th C bones of the place have been well maintained, but the updates are beautiful. The whole place smells divine. The rooms are quite luxurious, with high end sheets and towels, and largely excellent art. The resultant choices in the building are great. If you need help with your bags that isn’t available, although they do have an elevator. The breakfast room is sunny and inviting, but the water for the tea and the coffee was tepid at best at 9:15 (breakfast runs 8-10) and the breakfast a fairly paltry buffet - although the eggs were creamy and the fruit delicious. I don’t know that they need to do breakfast until they can do it as well as everything else - there is a great place, Better World, just across the street. We did enjoy our stay very much and would love to come back in the summer.
